HAS ANYONE HEARD OF OR USED THE UNIVERSAL SHUTTLE THAT PICKS YOU UP AT YOUR DISNEY RESORT HOTEL? LAST YEAR WE RENTED A BUS FROM MEARS(HAD 24 IN OUR PARTY) THIS YEAR ONLY HAVE 16 AND BUS IS NOT COST EFFECTIVE. WHEN WE CALLED MEARS THEY ADVISED US OF THE UNIVERSAL SHUTTLE THAT WILL PICK US UP AT OUR RESORT. PLEASE ADVISE ASAP

I've never heard of a Universal shuttle picking you up at a Disney hotel. Mears told you that?

Mears should be the ones running the shuttle. Even if you don't have enough people to fill a bus, they run shuttles to/from USF/IOA at specified times. One shuttle might stop at multiple hotels (usually it was two or three when we used to use it). Call them again and just tell them you are interested in their shuttle service to WDW and hopefully you'll get someone who knows what they're talking about. Before we lived in FL we never, ever rented a car so that was our sole means of getting to USF/IOA. It was really pretty painless.

if you are talking about the Mears shuttle that goes from picking you up at your disney resort and dropping you off at Universal, that cost is $16 pp

go to the lobby of your disney resort and talk to the cm's at the concierge lobby desk.

they can call Mears for you and set it up for you.
you have to reserve your seat on that bus the night before you need it.

you will pick the pick up times at time of reserving your seat.

if you have 16 people in your group this time, check out other sources for costs.
you might come out ahead by doing private car service.
