How do you convince DH to buy DVC? Take him to Universal for one full week.

We booked a Costco Universal package for 6 nights for the 5 of us. It included a full size car and unlimited Universal and Wet and Wild tickets for the length of stay. We stayed at the Sheraton Visitana Villas in a 2 bedroom villa. It was honestly a nice package. But something was missing. We found ourselves missing Disney. A LOT. Harry Potter is great but you can only do that so long.

I had booked a couple of dinners on Disney property just because I had some gift cards to use up. We went to the Contemporary one night for dinner then took a monorail ride after. We stopped at The Grand Floridan and bought drinks and sat and listened to the Piano player and Jazz band for a while. I can tell that my hubby is really enjoying himself and that he knows that there is nothing to compare at Universal. He turns to me and says, "Let's check out the DVC desk at the Contemporary on our way back" I nearly fell out of my chair. The man who made be cancel WDW because he didn't want to book 2 rooms wants to buy at Grand Floridian.

Well the paperwork came in the mail today. We are looking forward to two trips next year.

He is also looking at Beach Club re-sale. The next thing you know, he will be on the boards. LOL:rotfl2:

welcome home, no matter how you got here.:thumbsup2

We've enjoyed stays @ the Vistana for WDW focused trips. You may have very well had a different outcome;) if you had stayed onsite @ one of the Loews deluxe properties & enjoyed the early entry & FOTL perks to their parks.:goodvibes

Citiwalk has many entertainment opportunities, very nice to be able to boat or walk back to one's resort after an evening out. The Portofino is a true deluxe hotel experience that certainly compares favorably with any of the Disney properties.

That's awesome! What a great story. Congrats!! :thumbsup2

I love it! Welcome Home, many happy trips over many happy years!

We bought in 2000, but *I* was interested a few years prior. My husband refused to sit with a rep......until.....we stayed off property in a so-called 5 star timeshare resort, turned out to be a horrible place and the traffic in and out of the parks was all it took him to decide to buy ;)

Sometimes they just really need the experience first hand before they can write they check :cool1::rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Congrats!

LOL--He already has addonitis:) When the Mouse bites, he bites HARD. Welcome to the neighborhood, and tell your husband he'd enjoy hanging out here on the boards. All the cool kids are here. ;)

Same thing happened to us. Came home from an off-site stay May 19th, put in a bid on a DVC resale June 2nd. Visiting Disney from off site is just not the same. Looking forward to our first DVC stay in January.
