The Twelve Days of Swinter: From Castaway 'Key' to a Partridge in a Palm Tree!

Wow another busy weekend and I am behind again! :faint:

Great updates once again!! :goodvibes Loved all the CBR pics. I think I took several of the same ones in August! What a beautiful place it is. :lovestruc I'm so happy you guys enjoyed it.

And isn't it so awesome how close CBR is to DHS?!! Right around the corner! It looks like you had a better experience at Starring Rolls than we did. I agree, what a tiny place and a very confusing set up. :crazy2: The day we went in there it was so crowded that we couldn't get anywhere near the cupcake counter to even look at them. And then we had to search and search for a seat outside. And my ham sandwich had some nasty spicy gross sauce on it that made me gag. Be glad yours was dry!!

We've never seen B&TB at DHS. I always want to but of course the boys are never interested. Maybe next time I will have to put my foot down on that one!! Thanks for sharing your pictures of it.

Can't wait to see what the rest of your day at DHS brings! popcorn::

Great DHS shots. lunch does look good. Your DH is a bad boy! :rotfl:
I want to eat there someday too. We have yet to make it there. I want a peanut butter cupcake though. (notice I didn't say anything about a sandwich?) :rotfl2:)

You got some great B&B shots, but Belle is less than beautiful....I know she looks better than me, but she is kind of chunky, and so am I again, but I don't go and try to play Belle either. :rolleyes1

Yes, my DH is bad... very bad, espcially when it comes to food! :sad2: And yes, I do understand that it's all about the cupcake! The sandwich is just a side item!

You know I didn't even notice Belle that much when I was posting those pictures. I guess at my wieght, most people look skinny to me.

I was looking at your CBR pictures and am now longing to be there. I'd probably give them a million bucks too if I could just lie in that hammock for the day. Every time we go to the CBR, I walk around and think "you forgot how pretty this place is".

I've never eaten at Starring Rolls but it sounds like a place we may have to try. It'll take some talking though since Hunter is not a sandwich eater. I might, however, be able to entice him there with your picture of the cupcake.

It's been a while since we've seen Beauty & the Beast. Your pictures were great and they make me want to take time to see it again.

I know. I haven't booked anything for this year yet, but the plan is to try POR. I just don't know if I can actually do it. I may back out at the last minute and go with CBR!

Well you can always go there and just get a cupcake for a snack. But trust me, you can split one with someone and still have PLENTY!

You should get back and see B&tB next time. I even got teary eyed at the end just because it is so good and the music is wonderful!

Found it amusing that you had the Christmas decorations going on but were served your soft drinks at lunch in the Halloween cups! :rotfl:Guess they really did have all their holidays mixed up.
Great updates as usual. I do love looking at all your pictures.

Thanks!

I noticed that about the cup too! I guess they go ahead and use up whatever inventory they have before switching out for the next season. Seems like that happened at MK later on too.

Spring is always a super busy time. I can't believe this TR is taking me so long. I think I was done with my last one by this point and I still have 5 days to go! So don't feel bad about getting behind. I can't keep up myself!

I remember you saying that sauce was nasty on your sandwich. DH's was nothing like that. It wasn't spicy at all. I wonder what's up with that? Maybe if we go again I will specifically ask what sauce in on them. I surely don' want to be gagging!

I've been telling you for years now that you've got to put your foot down with those boys of yours (all 3 of them ;)) and go see B&tB. I think they might actually like it. My DH does. He would never admit it to ANYONE other than us, but he really likes that show a lot. It does have a heavy dose of testosterone though between the Beast and Gaston! And besides, you're a good mama, you deserve it! :thumbsup2

Hey Rinky! Thanks so much for the wonderful CBR photos. As you know, that's where Morghan and I are going to stay at in October. If we stay preferred, how far is our walk to the main building and main pool? I also am not a fan of long walks on vacation!

Starring Rolls has been on my radar for awhile so I really appreciate your honest review. I think I will also order the turkey when we go. How does the CS meal work there? Do you get the sandwich, a drink and a cupcake for one credit?

I had to giggle out loud when I saw the fan make an appearance. That thing should be named as one of your family since it plays such a big role in this TR! :rotfl:

Do you think that the beast is always better looking as a beast than as human in these shows. I always find I'm let down with the human reveal of the Beast and thinking he should jsut stay a beast as he was better looking then.

Beautiful pics...I LOVE Beauty and the Beast attraction. Definitely not to be missed. Speaking of B&B, I'll be seeing the broadway tour right here in my city in may, can't wait!!!

I so love you style of writing Rinky, you are really very very good. No wonder I nag for more, such a way with words!! I can really feel the magic through your descriptions/pictures. LOVE IT!!!!

Beauty and the Beast is a favorite for us, too. :thumbsup2

Your own bag of Doritos is pretty exciting to a kid. ;) Brooklynn is a fan of Doritos and gets those as a Disney snack sometimes, too.
The price of the individual bag, of course, is the same as a family bag at the grocery store. :sad2:

I'll have to keep in mind that the turkey sandwich was better than the ham at Starring Rolls.

Your walk will be very short. I'd say 2-3 minutes. It was less than a 5 minute walk for us in Jamaica. You will be fine in Martinique. I wouldn't worry about that one bit.

Everything that you saw on my tray is what you get for a dining credit. We used a CS credit there and it included the sandwich, choice of chips, drink and any dessert. They are famous for their cupcakes though so that's why I chose that. They had lots of other things though like cinnamon rolls, fruit, etc.

I know! The fan and the hat both should have been in the title somehow!

 Well I've never thought about that! Maybe it's the sloppy hair that spoils it for you. I'll admit he does need to comb it a bit.

Well thank you! You always say such nice things.

I am so jealous that B&tB is coming to your town! NOTHING ever comes here because we live in a backwoods hicktown! :sad2: I know you are going to LOVE seeing that! Please tell us all about it when you get back! (At the rate I'm going, I'll still be working on this TR in May )

Yeah, I would hate to pay for a bag of Doritos oop. Thank goodness for free dining! :worship: If we ever have to go to Disney without that, I think I am going to have some serious sticker shock!

Your welcome and everything I say I really mean!

The State Theatre is actually in pa and i live in jersey but its
just across the river a hop, skip and jump away. I've seen so
many fantastic shows there over the yrs. So lucky to have
quality entertainment right at my doorstep! Now, to really
make you jealous, i am only one hour away from NYC so i
have broadway at my beck and call as well!! Nothing like a
day in the Big Apple!

MMMM that cupcake looks delicious! But goodness, what a monster! I'm a frosting FIEND and that looks like too much for me! :rotfl:

Love your retelling of Beauty and the Beast! What a lovely story. I must say though, prince has got some messy hair goin' on when he becomes human again!

Wow that must be really nice! I think that would be a perfect location. I've been to NY many times and really enjoyed it, but no way could I live there. I think it would be great to have access to all the fun without having to live amongst the chaos.

Yes, I think there was a whole tub of frosting on that cupcake! I'm not a huge fan of sweets though, so other people might think the portion was perfect. I prefer salty/savory foods so to me, it was a sugar overload! It was still very good, but honestly all 3 of us could have gotten our fill off just one!

The prince does look mighty rough when he hatches doesn't he? I guess if we turned from a beast to a human, we would look bad too! His hair does look much better at the very end though when he comes out with his spiffy duds on.

I did try to comment yesterday, but had some computer glitches!

Anywho,
I thought lunch at Starring Rolls looked fabulous - Oh my word, that cupcake was crazy big! We had some there once - I think we split two between the four of us.

I LOVE your life lessons with the B&TB story!!! So true, so true!!! I was highly entertained. popcorn::

Ah! So much! Haha
I thank you for taking virtual walking tour of CBR, we're staying there for the first time in 3 weeks, and I feel like I know aboslutely nothing about it or the layout of it, time to crack down & do some studying!!

I agree with the nothign edible in CS in DHS, I still haven't managed to find anything, though the sandwiches at Starring Rolls look pretty good! Man, I am SO eating that butterfinger cupcake next time! A trick for cupcakes with that much icing, I take the bottom off, put it on top of all the icing, and smush it all together into a sandwich, helps with not having to unhinge the jaw :rotfl: I love the lessons in Beauty & the Beast, and the pink dresses at the end are supposed to be representative of the rose (at least that's what I've heard, but I like the bridesmaid dress option better lol)

 I am so glad I was able to entertain you! Nothing like reading the ramblings of a crazy woman I suppose. :rolleyes1

Those cupcakes are definitely king sized! I can't imagine anyone being able to eat one by themselves, unless they were starving!

Well I sure hope you love CBR as much as we did. I've got more CBR pics coming up soon too!

I'll have to try your smushing technique next time on the cupcake! :rotfl: I still couldn't eat it all though!

I never thought about them representing the rose. Every time I see them, I always think of bridesmaids, although I don't think the story actually says that they get married. :confused3 I'm putting way too much thought into this. :rotfl2:

Starring rolls looks like a winner. I had planned on doing lunch there but switched after reading Shelly's review. Making it a definite on our next trip.

I am thinking going back to paying OOP or DDP but no more DxDP way way too much food

Great update

Oh Rinky, I can't believe that I hadn't told you to order the turkey sandwich at Starring Rolls! It's by far the best!!!
As for desserts, my must do is the banana split parfait! Yummo!!!

I totally cracked up when I saw the pic of your DD with the fan on the bridge at CBR! That girl and her fan.....

I'm not sure what was going on with Shelly's sandwich. She has a nasty sauce and I had nothing. I'm going to give it another try though and if the turkey is good twice in a row, then I'll call it a keeper!

I can imagine that the DxDP would be way too much food! We only get two meals a day on the DDP, but we never feel hungry. The portions at WDW are so large that I think 2 meals is enough for most people. Sounds like more spending money for you on the next trip! :thumbsup2

So you knew about the turkey and you let me go and order the ham? :snooty:

:rotfl:

I suppose you didn't tell me b/c you didn't know I was eating there. I'll have to try your banana split parfait next time. That does sound good!

That fan! What can I say about that fan! :upsidedow At least she got her money's worth out of it!

:surfweb::surfweb::surfweb:
just hanging around waitin for yet another amazing update, its so boring around her without one!!!;)

Thank you for sharing all those wonderful life lessons! Made my day. No wonder you're exhausted. :rotfl: That Belle certainly "lit up" when she got to kiss her Beast turned into a boy. hmmm - you caught her expression so perfectly. Perhaps a little backstage romance.

OK - that cupcake looks amazing. I really wanted my family to eat there in Dec and they regretted it. I should torture them with that picture. Fools, they are!

Hmmm, wouldn't that be interesting to know all the backstage drama? I bet it is nothing like we thing it is.

Yep, your family missed out on some goodies at SR. There's always next time though. I might just stop in there for a cupcake snack next time if we don't eat lunch in the park.
