The truth about puppies...

Great post and adorable pup.

An abundance of cute is nature's way of suckering us into living with puppies.

I've always had purebred dogs gotten as pups, right up until our current dog. We got her as a year old rescue dog. No more puppies for me ever. Housebroken and no puppy crazies, yahoo. You can have your puppy breath.

I volunteer with a dog rescue and we get tons of puppies sent to us from high kill shelters in the south. Alas, the stuff them in the trunk in the hot weather mentality is all too common.

I too am going through puppy hell right now. We have 2 adult Danes and when the lady from the rescue called and said they had a 4 month old Dane puppy... I excitedly said I would take it. Oh boy.... My other two were adults when I got them. Titan is a ball of energy. He just turned 1 and his brain has yet to catch up with his body. Dd11 calls him a destructive model. He has no control of his 130 lb body. But when he looks at you with those sad eyes, or flops his head on your lap it's all worth it. Oh and as an added bonus.... Giant breeds normally go through the puppy stage for 2-3 years!!

Awwww, what a cutie!!

Puppyhood is rough, but soooo worth it when they're grown and are wonderful companions! :)
