I am so sorry to hear about your 4th of July mishaps. I was also unfortunate enough to have something like this happen in 1998. A tour group of teenagers from South America were transfered to the Poly because they didn't have room for them at the All Star Resort. They reeked havoc everywhere they went. They threw chairs into the pools, trashed the beaches, the laundry room had to be closed at one point due to their behavior there. I was amazed that no one at the resort seemed to do anything about this. I even saw them putting soda at Captain Cook's into their Ice Buckets. I mentioned it to the cashier and she said the managers knew about it but no one could seem to control them. Many of the resort guests were complaining about their behavior and were being told they were doing what they could to stop it. I thought it was very poor planning on their part.

That being said, I still return to the Poly almost every visit.

I love Rosemarie, Missy and Melissa. I go over to the suites to see Rosemarie every trip. I first met them when they were in the regular concierge building together. I just loved the original concierge staff and I miss them terribly. Chef Dick was talking about you web pages when I was there in May. Because someone made a reference to something they had seen on the internet and couldn't remember where. He said it had to be Tikimans web pages. All the staff think of you and Tara very fondly.

It sounds like you had a fabulous vacation anyway.

My son has been bugging me to ask you what the age is on the jet ski at the Contemporary? We will be down at the Poly in August and he is dying to ride these.

I can't believe the concierge will be down over the summer. Eventhough they will move it to another building it just won't be the same. I will have to make sure I miss it during rehab. This visit I am staying two nights at the YC maybe I will stay there next summer. Have you ever stayed there?

You experience at the AKL concierge doesn't sound like you did as well with the staff as everyone else has reported. Did you see Don or Diane that used to be at the Poly? Your room sounds great. If they offered me one of those I would jump on it too.

I was there in 1998 but we had problems with a group of French students who trashed the luau while we were at it. They even ran up on stage many times and were finally stopped when they had the fire juggler.

As far as the Jet Skis go, I know the law here is 14 but some states it is 16 to operate a watercraft. I would check with the Contemporary. At this point they are the only ones who have them.

I think the concierge thing will work out well in the Tahiti longhouse. I am sorry I will not be there to see it.

Yes we stayed at the YC last year when we split our honeymoon stay with the Polynesian. It was ok but taking the bus from the YC was a mess. I guess I will never find a resort that is as easy to get around as the Polynesian. Everyone asked me if I liked the YC because my favorite park is Epcot but I found Epcot easier to get into from the Polynesian monorail than walking from the YC. In fact I video taped the walk and timed the ride from the Polynesian to Future World and the Polynesian trip beat it by a few minutes. Then someone argued that you can get to World Showcase faster but it is not even open in the morning.

By the way, I did not see Don but he was the one we communicated with via email.
