The TRIP of all Trips... Ana's MAW PTR... *TR STARTED* Link- Post #1901 Pg. 127

Hi Tim, I am sorry that the MAW news are so much not-yet-news! It would make me a bit crazy as well!

But I was wondering wether this slow information flow is not part of the "Wish-process" - just imagine you would be granted a wish from a fairy godmother, it would just appear in front of you. You would not say after being granted a wish, ok, let me just research my possibilities and then I will come back with exactly what I want. Instead the fairy godmother would know exactly what is best for you and grant your wish in her way. :goodvibes

Hey Tim

Wanting to catch up, but will have to wait until later this PM. I scored an interview with the Toy Store, so with that and other stuff I gotta to today, I'm pretty busy.... Can't wait to see what Jul. was blessed with over the last few days. :cheer2:
Good luck!!! I hope you get the job! Hopefully they won't pull the 'you are over qualified' routine. :lmao:

WOW! No kidding is that going to be busy. You know I lived in NY all my life up until a few months ago and I never saw the Radio City Christmas show. :confused3 Don't get me wrong, I wanted to but just never did get to see it. I hope you enjoy it. :)
Melody & I saw it about 8-9 years ago. We thought Juliana would like seeing it... plus DW & I wanted to see it again too! :goodvibes

NY (city?) to Florida? Hope the transition is working out for you! :goodvibes

I am happy that you finally heard something from MAW :) I don't know how I would be with getting the info so late but it will all work out!!!
It was nice to know we weren't forgotten! :rotfl2:

I know everything will work out. :goodvibes

The things from the BIG give are beautiful!! She looks so excited :yay: everytime she opens a box ~ that's awesome
Hopefully I will have another update up tonight... I really think our mailwoman is getting mad at us- taking that walk up to our front door. :rotfl2:

Have a great time at Radio City, I went about 6 years ago & it was an amazing show. I hope you all enjoy it!!!
Thank you! I'm sure we will have a great time. I will post pics.. if I have time before we leave. :)

I like your view on this. I went through the MAW paperwork the other night just to make sure I didn't overlook anything on our part that we 'should or have' done. After rereading everything it seems like MAW wants to do the planning without the recipients involvement in order to make for a stress free trip. I can respect that. I just wonder if, maybe, it would be easier to ask the family what type of planners they are or even if they have any experience with WDW. I don't consider myself 'high maintenance' but I think a call every once in a while letting us know a little info wouldn't be a bad thing.:confused3

Oh cool can't wait :)
It has been a busy day with Juliana. I have quite a few pics coming up at some point later on tonight or early tomorrow. She really got a kick out of a few of your gifts! ;) :goodvibes:goodvibes

Good good :) Some were funny was hoping she'd like them :)

Yes, I agree! I wonder, aren't those MAW kids very often rather ill at the moment they travel to WDW? I guess many families are very glad if they don't have to worry about planning a trip while they are busy taking a kid to the hospital and taking care of their special needs... I imagine everyday life is already stressful enough for those families. I guess you must have gone through phases like this as well with Juliana! :scared1: But I think it would still be nice if they took into account that MAW families are all different and that not planning might be more stressful for some than planning... :goodvibes

Good good :) Some were funny was hoping she'd like them :)
Oh believe me... she did!

The girl's name (who makes the bows) is Becky.
Oh... I thought you were saying it was you! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Some kids are ill and some aren't. I can totally understand if families are dealing with health issues.... why bother them with trying to plan a trip as well. Oh well, whatever happens, we will have the time of our lives! :wizard: :goodvibes:goodvibes

:woohoo: to hearing from MAW...but could they wait any longer to come give you the details?! A week before seems so close :confused3

Did I read that you're going to see the Christmas Spectacular? When are you going? I love that show and my family and I are going again December 11! :santa:

I wonder why all MAW chapter are so different. Our Chapter lets us extend our trip(though really doesn't cost them a thing to do this) and we get a send off party, but we don't get anything fancy at the park. Oh..and the party is up to $100. I would rather get an ADR or special entrance to a party at DW. I'm not really complaining as getting this trip is more than we can ask. Just would love to do a character meal just once. We won't have the cash this time either. oh well. I hope you hear something soon.

I didn't multi-quote all the back and forth with you and Magdalene, but it is very interesting!!! I can really see both sides of the planning it for the families and the letting them do some of it too.

Yes, and I think Tim got it right: it would be great if they were so flexible to adjust it to the individuals family needs and personality! :goodvibes

I guess that is how MAW does things here... it is OK. I am NOT going to stress out. ;)

We are going Monday November 21st. I think it will get us into the Christmas spirit the week before we leave for Disney and see it decorated for Christmas! :santa:

I am not sure why each chapter is different either. :confused3 Maybe it has to do with fundraising or even the amount of people working there and volunteering.:confused3:confused3

Maybe you can use some of your expense check towards one character meal? It would be a shame if you guys didn't get to go to one!

You know... (and I've said this before) how us DISers are. Sometimes we need to just sit back, RELAX, and enjoy what is going to happen. We plan, make changes, plan, over plan, and plan some more. I know we will have the best trip ever. This trip is a celebration of life.... I'm not letting not eating at a certain place or missing a tea party ruin the fact that we are going to be in WDW with the people we love the most. Of course I want everything to be perfect but life isn't perfect. There are always little bumps in the road- and that is what makes it interesting. What fun would it be if everything was perfect all the time. :confused3 :lmao:

I wonder if MAW will give us an evaluation form (or something like that) when we return? Maybe I will be able give a little insight- from our perspective. :confused3

I could not agree more Tim..... It is sooooo easy to get caught up in trying to plan everything perfectly ( I am the first to do this) ;) but sometimes it is good to sit back & be thankful that we have this opportunity to go on this amazing trip with our children & make the best of whatever happens.... :) We should live EVERY day to the fullest & sometimes that takes no planning at all... just sit back & enjoy the view!!!!

The girl's name (who makes the bows) is Becky.

Her dis name is ladybugmom and I think she sells them through Etsy or her facebook page. She may have a PTR going on right now for a Dec trip. I am thinking I read some of it a month ago.

Yup, I was a Queens girl all of my life. He was a City boy. Oh yeah, we love being Floridians!! First thing I told him we had to do was get annual passes so I could be Disney'd out my first year. :rotfl:  I'm waiting to re-apply for Disney (you have to wait 6 months to apply again). I was sooo made to work there. :goodvibes

LOL- there are a lot of mail staff getting upset with the Big Give people. The way I see it, they should be happy. We're keeping them working. ;)

Melody keeps saying- 'Let's just move to Florida. I can get a job easy there and you can work at Disney!' I laugh every time... then I think that maybe she isn't so crazy? :confused3 :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Exactly! I'm sure the higher-ups appreciate it. :rotfl:

I have a few Big Gives to post. I am trying not to get too far behind so here we go. There was another package at the door when Juliana got home from school on Thursday.

There were Mickey & friends stickers all over the box.

Juliana starting opening up the box...

DSC00019-1.jpg

She found the card first.

DSC00020-1.jpg

We read the card and then Juliana moved on to the gifts. She pulled out a bag that was addressed to me! She didn't seem too happy about that!! :lmao:

DSC00021.jpg

Then she pulled out another bag addressed to Melody.

DSC00022.jpg

Finally, she found what she was looking for!

DSC00023.jpg

What could it be? It was very colorful.

DSC00025.jpg

Cool! A tie dyed shirt!

DSC00026.jpg

I had Juliana open up my gift.

DSC00028-1.jpg

Juliana tried on her shirt and loved it!

DSC00031-1.jpg

We noticed a message on the outside of the box.

DSC00032-1.jpg

Here were our bags..

And all three shirts.
