The "Bone Collector" episode reminds me of a Rez Band song 80,000, "What price human dignity? Betrayed because of poverty". Hard to believe the human parts them sell, the people them came from, would have been ok with that....

Yeah that place was pretty creepy. The selling of bones was just gross. It was interesting to see the museum part of it.

I listened to the show on the way to work, and just checked out the website of the place. Now, I've a degree in biology, and work in the medical field, so I have a certain interest in these things. But that website is just too much. The photo of the "master flenser" in particular, grinning broadly in front of a pile of decapitated monkey heads, is revolting. And his bio talks of how he loves horror movies. I guess in some small way I am grateful he has a somewhat legitimate outlet for his...predilections? but good gravy, something ain't right with these people. I would not support such a place with my $$$.

Saying "good gravy" in the context of talking about bones, I find that humerus (get it?) ;)

Well, I can't say they convinced me to visit this...ahem...attraction? But, this episode did evoke an outpouring of emotions....

1. Not Mini-golfing :worried:
2. We're going to see skeletons instead :confused3
3. He started collecting them with his dad when he was little:scratchin
4. They even get human skeletons o_O
5. All the skeletons are put in "natural" poses:oops:
6. Then they "create" mythical creatures with the skeletons...including the humans!:scared:
7. Then we get to watch the video of the process of cleaning the bones and then see actual beetles finishing the job  :crazy2: :faint:
8. And to top of the experience you too can pick out and purchase a HUMAN finger bone!!!!!! :scared1:

Yep, I watched the whole episode in morbid fascination. I tell ya, I'll watch them talk about paint drying!

I can see it now... "Next, on The Trip.... The paint drying olympics!"

Now, now. Remember that a reviewer's job is a thankless one because they have to endure a lot of things in the name of reporting in order to help us avoid making mistakes with our money. We need to be grateful for their willingness to suffer through the tasteless and the tacky so we don't have to! My hat's off to them. Not every attraction or restaurant in Central Florida is worth our patronage and thanks to The Trip, there are several that I can cross off my list!

I am just kidding around, I MUCH appreciate the show!

I kinda got that. I just thought that a public service announcement and a word of thanks would be nice for the podcast crew to see to let them know that they are appreciated. Sometimes The Dis crew gives The Trip crew a bit of ribbing. Not everyone can be lucky enough to jaunt off to ABD trips several times a year. Somebody has to stay behind and go to Titanic exhibits, creepy bone shows, and ride on giant Eyes!

I might be the only human being on planet earth who would be quite happy to be turned into a centaur after death.

But yes, some of that exhibit seemed interesting, other bits (legal selling of human bones!! WTH??) were just plain weird. I'll stick to the Natural History museum I think.
