Once again, wake up, shower,...NO BREAKFAST...Donald has invited us to eat with him.

Disney has done it again, 5 mins and off to Animal Kingdom we go. We get there and the crowd is huge. No matter, the PS isn't until 9 anyway and they opened up the park 15 mins early. Not a problem. Um...where is Breakfast? A friendly CM points us to the general directions and low and behold there we are...1 min late. We check in and 5 mins later are seated. Now, this is great...breakfast, all you can eat and fresh orange juice. Life is good. DD and I make the first attack at the buffet and DW flirts with Goofy who comes by. As she goes Donald comes in and flirts with DD...how come nobody flirts with me...the guy who paid for all this? It was a great unhurried breakfast and life is good.

We hit the "travel back in time and get a dinosaur ride"...ok, forgot the name of it...and then mosey around Dinoland. This place is fantastic. We meander off through Asia, Africa and points in between and notice that ITS HOT. Florida is outdoing itself with the heat today. We take in Tarzan Rocks and DD and DW think Tarzan is eye candy. I'm pretty impressed with the monkies roller blading actually and if I were to work out 365 days a year, sit in the sun, lose 20 years and become a bronze macho sun god then I'd look like Tarzan too...or not. Anyway its a great show. We mosey around and DD starts to laugh. Uh oh, a teen laughing...not good. When I ask why she says one word...BATS.

Ok, little story...I HATE BATS. Bats are great...in zoos, behind glass, away from me, way over there, not around anything I want and well you get the idea. Then the DD hits it...she dares me. I shudder and accept the dare. After all, if Tarzan can do it I can. I'm fully clothed. We approach the bat area and yes, they are fruit bats, I'm not fruit but holy cow are they big and ugly. Then, the bats do the "hey, a bat hater is here let's put on a show to freak him out" trick...and spread their 350 ft wings. Ok, Dad's had enough. The bats win.

Working our way around the park we hit the fast pass for the river rapids and get a cool snack. We take a leisure walk around and when its our time we hit the river rapids. Heh...time to get the DD back. We ride with a family from England and their mom is freaking out because she may get wet...hello, the sign says you will get wet and may get drenched. The ride is short and the whole time this lady is whining about getting wet...and guess who gets drenched...ME. DD gets some and DW gets it too. Ok, who planeed this? Off the ride and thank goodness DW brought a towel.

Is parade time (the first one we've seen because Florida likes to rain on me at parade time and they get cancelled) and then its off to a Bug's Life.

The show is right...its tough to be a bug but let me tell you, being a wet dad isn't a piece of cake. The show is excellent and when we get out its pouring. Well at least we saw the parade. We slosh back to the bus with the panchos on and get home in time to change and get out to Downtown Disney.

Downtown Disney is a shopper's heaven and a very bad place to take DD...ok a bad place to take anybody because everybody can find things here to crave, want, desire and just plain gotta have. Its finally cooled down and we get some pizza and ice cream and start planning our next trip...this has been a great vacation.

Next, resorts and then the 34 hour flight home

I think it's tougher to be walking around AK in wet undies than it is to be a bug! ;)

Great report, though I'm really worried about the next installment. 34 hour flight home! YIKES!

enjoyed your reports and looking forward to reading about your 34 hour trip home.
