The Tours..Who's done them?

ok so i got another tour to check out.... once i find something i like, i find 50 more things i wanna do lol

There should be a warning on the Discussions home page - CAUTION: MAY CAUSE DW & DIS ADDICTIONS.

Seriously, I came here on sort of a whim, then posted to try & get suggestions for ways to get my reluctant DFi to go for a Disney honeymoon. I think the most common thing mentioned was the tours. I'm still trying to figure out which one to go on! Can't afford more than 1 :sad1:

I'm about 300 pounds and plan to be between 250-275 by the time our 1-year anniversay trip happens in August. Are there any weight restrictions, and if so do they weigh you before you get on the Segways?

I checked on them last night and 250 is the limit... I got a lil ways to go befor i can ride one too... Good luck and hope ya have fun

We've done Backstage Magic twice--it was worth every penny!

We've also done the Backstage Safari at the AK, and if you are into animals it's fabulous.

I've also done the Seeds tour at the Land, and for the price it was a good tour.

As NewYorkRedNeck mentioned the weight limit is 250 lbs. Being pooh sized I was near the limit and they didn't bat an eyelash. They didn't weigh anyone in my group (Oct 2006). So if you can get down near 250 your will probably be all right, but maybe I just had a lenient guide.

DH and I surprised DS13 with Dolphins in Depth last month. IT WAS GREAT! and one of the few that kids that age can go on. (bring proof of age in case you are asked). We learned a lot about the dolphins, watched them in training, and got in the water with them. They take souvenir pics of you with the animal. A very exciting experience- pricey but wonderful. Remember that you get 15% off of the tours with an AP!

I've also done the Keys to the Kingdom tour in MK. Do it. If you get Rae as a guide you are in for a treat.

Did the Keys to the Kingdom tour and like it, but did not like Rae. A little too full of herself IMHO.

The Segway around the World can't be beat.

is there somewhere that list the different tours and how much they are.

Since we will be at disney for his birthday I was trying to think of something to do to surprise him

Have you thought about one of the dinners with an Imagineer? I haven't gone on one, but you may want to look into it.

We talked about doing that just not sure if we will or not its kind of pricy and I think he would much rather do something with a animator

Have done KTTK tour with mom last year and loved it, Have booked to whole famil (6 of us) for the Segway tour in August.

Anyone know if disney employees get tour discounts??

I also did the Backstage Magic tour and although I thought a lot of the places we saw backstage were interesting, I would have enjoyed going backstage at the attractions more. We only got to see one attraction, and then were taken places like Human Resources. It may have been that a lot of the people on the tour were sort of grumpy as well, that made it a little less "magical." It was ok, but at the price, I wouldn't do it again.

This was our expereince too. I learned a lot and much of the tour was interesting but not quite what I expected. Our tour guide was really informative and nice and our group was nice to be with. We finished up and felt like there was so much more that we could've seen or done. I'm a craft person so seeing the floral and costuming areas was cool for me but may not be for others. I've always wanted to see the utildoors so that was neat too. Our guide gave us a lot of info on being a Disney employee which is good if you're interested in ever working for Disney but I'm sure it bored anyone who hasn't entertained the idea of working there. Unless it was revamped, I wouldn't be interested in doing it again and except for the fact that there are some interesting things to be seen, I'd give the details and save everyone the $$ and time.
