At first I was thinking "wow, someone took very similar pictures as the ones I took... they must have been standing near me". Then I realized those *are* my photos. :P

You can't get much closer than that! Nice job on those Ricky... I meant to credit you in my post, but I hit the Submit button a little too quickly.:surfweb:

Thank you for all of the wonderful pics and news!!! I can't wait to view them all tomorrow.

I just got to my mom's to pick up my daughter and now I'm heading home to finish packing!!!

MadBrad: That is exactly what he looks like!!!

Apparently there were some more competitions at the CMO event today...

Tripp shows rare form in the "steal a beach ball from a child" competition.

Wha???? :scared1: .... Demerits!!!

Stroller Derby 8am
Early entry at MK, just barely made it back to stroller parking (where skyway used to be - next to Small World).

It seems they are trying to do this like a sports competition - woman announcer interviewing/introducing, 2 espn-like guys doing commentary. Donald was there as celebrity!

-Each contestant was given 5 strollers with a mixture of items in it.
-A family name sign in colored font was on each stroller, and each matched a color ribbon on the front of the stroller.
-The challenge was to get all "yellow" items in the stroller with the yellow ribbon, all brown in the brown, etc.
-Strollers then had to be put in order alphabetically by family name.

Justin finished in 2min58sec, with David, then Tripp close behind.

As I had Ann post, even though Justin "won" there is no benefit, other than maybe more people will vote for him when they see the video?

And Marshay - there is no way they could have "chosen" Justin to win, unless David and Tripp were in cahoots and lost on purpose. I don't think so! Same with crowd noise.

Prepping for Loud Crowd
After stroller derby...they let the guys pick the two props they would have access to for the Loud Crowd competition. They "chose" by racing toward tables with the props on them, and each guy had to grab for 2 items. They had to run it twice because first time Justin and David each got 1 drum, and they were supposed to be tied together to Make 1 item.

Any way, on the 2nd try, Justin totally wiped out the tables and himself - but as Ricky pointed out - ended up with the coveted drums.

I have some video to show - don't know if it turned out or not, but Justin's friend Joe got it all on tape!

Put the pictures on Picasa cuz it's faster to load:

It's all looking really great. I'm looking forward to getting there tomorrow to see the final challenge. That looks like 3 terrific men to me. The smiles are priceless!

Very funny!!

Very good and I definitely take back my theory then!!! I figured the stroller one would be timed but the rest would be all judgement calls in favor of all winning. I WAS WRONG!!!

I'm actually quite happy to hear this -- particularly that they used a decimal device (?) to determine winner for the crowd.

I love the fact that Justin ran so fast that he knocked over the table to get the drums!! Very good strategy Justin ;) I didn't even think of that! :rotfl2:

particularly that they used a decimal device (?) to determine winner for the crowd.

It was a decibel meter... as in, a device that measures sound pressure levels in decibels (or dB). In plain English, it measures how loud or quiet sounds are... in this case, the crowd's volume! :)

Video's taking longer than expected but it will definitely be up tonight.

Okay, keep these things in mind while watching any of my videos:

-They are taken with a digital camera - NOT camcorder.

-I really cared more about watching than recording, so sometimes the shots are awful!

-I tried to show all 3 contestants, but my bias kept showing thru!

-Some really weird-voiced woman was talking, yelling, and laughing right next to MY camera! (Who could it be? ;) )

-Absolutely no editing done - all raw footage! Didn't worry about quality as much as getting it up fast!

You have been warned:

Not to distract from the CMO finalist competition, but I thought you guys might want to see the meeting of "two non-top 3" CMO finalists at Disneyland this week. Here's me and my family with Amy Kate and her daughter, Chelsea (the girl in the pink shirt):

A special thanks to my awesome wife for surprising me with my own Andy-mated Avatar shirt!

By the way, we'd planned on meeting at noon inside the animation building at California Adventure...but it turns out she was in line right in front of us walking through the entry gates!

Hi, Andy! :wave2:

So fun! Thanks for posting your Disneyland photo.

That's it! Now I have to add my Andy-mated Avatar to a T-shirt, too!

Cat -- what was the confusion on the Stroller Derby? I heard you or someone say something like, oh, it's complicated? I understand Justin put the strollers in reverse alphabetical order but it looked like there was something, else, too?
