Someone at the Orange County (California) Weekly has a demented sense of humor. There's a new lawsuit against Disney from Disneyland alleging personal injuries from the Jungle Cruise. I wasn't going to harp on yet another personal injury lawsuit against Disney but then I noticed the thumbnail photo the OC Register used for the story on its website. The Titanic, really?

I certainly don't know all (or any for that matter) of the facts in this case, but I'm not sure how a boat with a top speed of 3 knots on a track runs into an island. And even if it did, that it would cause injuries.

Something seems "fishy" here. :groan

Maybe the hippos bumped the boat.

Sure is a strange story. :surfweb:

I don't know what the plaintiffs mean by the skipper going very fast. Those boats don't have a very powerful engine so their top speed isn't very much. Also don't know how the boat could have hit an island since they ride on a track. Perhaps the linkage broke?

Somehow I think if something like this happened the Jungle cruise would have been closed for at least a couple of day well Disney investigated it. Also I wouldn't be surprised if it get thrown out by the Judge when Disney shows him the plans for the ride like thy have done numinous times before when someone had made such a clam.
