A friend of mine brought me some pictures of when we were younger. We all know those pictures. Beach week. Fresh out of college with all our hopes and dreams on our shirtsleeves. That was when I had the revelation. She hasn't changed but boy have I! I dont have to ask what happened. I know. Life. So here it is.
Im 29. Ill be 30 in May. Im looking forward to it actually.I have always been petite. 52 on a good day. I never cracked 105 lbs in High school or College. I work in healthcare and about 2 years ago I went from working in a hospital to working a desk job. I used to walk to work almost everyday. I would then spend 8-10 hrs running around the hospital. Now I have a 30-45 min commute and sit at a desk for 8 hrs. Couple that with the weight that everyone inevitably puts on when newly married and you have a recipe for disaster. I saw it coming but stood there like a deer in headlights. NO, this couldnt be happening to me. Im young and petite and active. Im just bloated. Im not used to wearing work clothes. Scrubs are more roomy. Yeah-45-50 lbs is water weight.
So after a year and a half I put the brakes on and started the South Beach Diet program. I did really well. I dropped 12 lbs in the first month. I was so excited! Sure I can go out to lunch with yall. I can have this cheeseburger. I have lost weigh! I need to celebrate! Back down I slid.
So here I am. Needing some support and fellowship. I love my DH but he just doesnt understand. He is not a very trim man and comes from a family of rather large people. He knows the health risks he has inherited and leads a pretty healthy life. He drops weight like hes taking off his pants. So not fair but what is.
We have a big trip planned in October and I would love to be back down around 110 lbs and healthier. I know this is a tall order but I am up for the challenge.
Thanks for letting me get this out. Sometimes all you need to do is put actions on paper so they dont seem to be so scary.
