I was awake at about 5am this morning with a bit of a headache but nothing that some Tylenol couldn't sort out. I did a quick bit of surfing and checked out the current internet gossip on BLT. Niamh woke up at about 6am and we got fed up waiting and woke Aodhan at half 7. We went down to Roaring forks for breakfast then waited out front for the DVC van to collect us.
The van arrived at about 8:45am and we were soon getting dropped off at the SSR preview center. I checked the kids in at the kids club (under duress as they werent impressed at having to go in there) and met up with our guide. We went to look at the studio and 1 bed BLT units and apart from the kooky bedspread they were actually quite nice with some high quality finishes. In the studio they have put the kitchen in its own area (rather than in the hall in other DVC studios) and the 1 bedroom has two bathrooms which is a nice addition.
Our guide explained about the facilities that will be there and the pool sounds lovely. He said it will be for the use of BLT guests only (not Contemporary guests) and, like BCV and AKV there will be no pool hopping allowed. We love the location so much that Im prepared to risk a non MK view and, as an owner, if I dont get MK at 11 months, I can take advantage of the lower points standard view. I paid a deposit, signed the contract and just have to take it home for Steve to sign, then Fed-Ex it back.
When we finished all the paperwork our guide took us back over to the BLT models so that the kids could have a look and they were suitably impressed. We then had an ice-cream and the van dropped us off at DTD. We had a look in a few shops but didnt buy anything, we did stop in Goofys candy co for one of these.
We caught the bus back to WL and had some lunch in Roaring Forks then came back to the room to chill and get changed before MNSSHP. On our way from the bus stop Aodhan thought hed play a game where he threw his hat over the wooden beams. He managed the first one but then this happened
When wed stopped laughing we went to reception and asked if they could have someone with a ladder get it down for us and wed collect the hat later. Niamh couldnt wait to get changed into her outfit
Once we were ready for the party, we collected the hat then caught the bus over to the park at about half 4 and you could already feel the party atmosphere. We headed into Tomorrow land and all the rides were a walk on. We were having dinner at Crystal Palace so we headed over there and were seated without too much of a wait. This was a lovely meal and Aodhan got to hug Pooh which he said was his favorite character here.
I got a text from Mazzy at about 6ish to say they were on their way and to meet them + Dave & Lesley near the train station. We made our way over there and spotted Dave & Lesley right away. The regal outfits helped and they looked exactly like their picture (well they would wouldnt they) We chatted with them and congratulated them on their new DVC purchase. Niamh spotted Mazzy & Sam and we took a group photo after wed had a chat.
Aodhan & Niamh were getting restless so we left the others to it and headed over to Tomorrow land again to start trick or treating and to have a boogie with Stitch.
The only crowded places were the first parade and the trick or treat stations in the walkway between Toontown Fair and Tomorrow land. Apart from that you almost felt like you had the park to yourselves with hardly any wait times for rides. We watched the first parade from the hub near the castle then went over to Haunted Mansion, which looked extra creepy with the addition of swirling fog. We came back near the hub to watch Wishes then went to have our photos taken with a few of the more unusual characters.
My only gripe with the party was the lack of places to get a drink but thats just a small gripe in what was overall a great night. We watched the second parade over in Frontier land and as the kids were getting tired we decided to leave afterwards. We made our way back down Main Street through the shops and beat the parade so we were able to watch it for the 3rd time down by the railway station.
All in all, what with buying our new home resort, meeting some great internet pals and going to MNSSHP it was the best day. We fell into bed exhausted at midnight but not before stopping to take a photo of these lads whod had their own party while we were out.
