20th September 2008

I woke up at about 5am and although it was still very sore, my knee wasn’t as painful as yesterday. I did have a couple of other aches & pains from the fall but nothing that some painkillers couldn’t sort out.

Niamh was next awake and she played her Nintendo DS while I typed up the trip reports. Aodhan woke at about half 6 and we put the TV on the Disney Channel. We went down to the food court at 7am and made sure we carefully walked in the door. While we were there a lady offered us a voucher that she couldn’t use. It was for a mesh bag, which we picked up when we were in Epcot. While we were in the food court I picked up some milk and a bowl so that Aodhan could have his coco pops back in the room.

We were showered, dressed and out the door just after half 8. The curse of the All Star buses struck again and every bus bar the Epcot one came and went. Eventually the bus arrived and luckily we were near enough to the front of the line to get a seat. The bus was full of loads of unhappy babies and toddlers who all seemed to be screaming at the same time.

We got to Epcot at about ten past nine and were quickly through bag check and into the park. First up was Spaceship Earth and we tried out some of the games and sent some silly post cards to Steve back home.

The plan today had been to walk around the World Showcase but my knee wasn’t up for it so we spent the day in Future World.

We did walk over to Japan as Aodhan wanted some Yu-Gi-Oh cards but it was so hot today we couldn’t face the walk back so we caught the boat from Morocco to Canada. While we were in the park I arranged an appointment for Tuesday with our DVC guide so that I could look at the Contemporary models. I’m coming back to the idea of buying some points here but I’ll decide once I’ve looked at the units.

We had lunch at Electric Umbrella and then had a great time in Innoventions (East & West.)

At about 4 O’clock we went over to the land where we rode Soarin and Living with the Land before checking in for our ADR at the Garden Grill. It was nice here and again Chip and Dale went that extra mile and were really funny, but I preferred our dinner at LTT last night.

My knee was giving me some serious grief by now so I took some more painkillers while the kids went on Spaceship Earth again. While I was waiting for them by the exit a woman in a wheelchair arrived, she seemed to have a broken arm. She proceeded to get on the ride with 15 of her family members which I thought was a bit much.

When the kids finished in Spaceship Earth we made our way out of the park, we did the slow walk to the bus stop and this time there was an All Star bus there. The kids ran up to it and asked the drive if he’d mind waiting for me to hobble up a minute or two later. Luckily he didn’t mind and we were on our way back to the All Stars with no wait.
When we got back to the resort we stopped in the arcade for a while as the kids had some credit on their cards from the summer. I sat on the bench outside until they’d finished then we went back to the room. We all had showers before settling down to watch Camp Rock.

Great day but a shame your knee was hurting so much Jakki, hope it got better soon:goodvibes

Sorry your knee was hurting. Those buses sound a nightmare.

(Love that thermometer Sue, keep hoping it goes up or stays the same for me next week).

Those busses sound like a total nightmare tbh. I guess that's why I enjoy DLRP so much, everywhere is within walking distance of the hotels!

Epcot looked like fun, it's probably my favorate Disney park in WDW.
