We all had a lie in today and didn’t wake up until just after 8am, the plan was to head into Epcot as today was the first day of Food & Wine and probably my only chance to ever see it while the kids are still at school.

We went down to Roaring Forks for breakfast and the place was mobbed. We still managed to get a table once we’d got something to eat. when we’d finished breakfast we headed out to the bus stop. It was really busy but when the bus came along, only a few people were going to Epcot, the rest seemed to be waiting for an Animal Kingdom bus. We were soon on our way and it didn’t take long to get to get there. We spotted this fellow while we were walking from the bus to the entrance

The park was quite busy but not as packed as I’ve seen it in the summer and it looked lovely all done up for the Food & Wine Festival.

First up was Spaceship Earth which was great as always and then we made our way over to the Wonder Pavilion, we only went in to see what the pavilion looked like as it’s never been opened before.

I took a few more photos as we left the Wonder Pavilion

From there we walked into World Showcase and as much as the French Champagne stall called my name, it was too hot and too early so I settled for a coffee.

We spent the day walking around looking at all the stalls and some of them had some lovely stuff. We tried things in China, India, Italy and Japan. We looked at the Irish stall but didn’t try anything.

I’d love to come here with Steve and spend an evening just wandering around trying all the lovely food and wine.

We met up with Donald in Mexico

And Mickey near America

It was a hot and the kids were getting tired so we called it a day and decided to head back to WL. On the way we got some shaved ice from Japan which was a big hit

When we got back to the resort I did some washing and we went swimming in the villa’s pool, which was warmer than the main pool.

We spent a couple of hours by the pool then got something to eat before going up to the room where I did the packing and the kids watched the brand new Suite Life on Deck series. We’re flying home tomorrow and ME is collecting us at 2:05pm, we’ve requested late check out so we’re heading over to MK until about mid day and grabbing a quick shower before getting our coach.

These fellows were waiting for us

Another great day. I'm so pleased that you were able to see the F&WF

...... did you have to pay much for late room checkout and what time could you have it until?

You don't have to pay extra - you just have to call housekeeping the day before checkout and request it, the request is not always granted but if they do grant it you can stay in your room until 1pm

Eww, I don't like the look of that spider .....

He wasn't as big as he looks in the photo and is harmless, although I wouldn't want to see him in my sock draw :scared1:
