The things you forgot to pack...

Extra diapers since those aren't cheap on site.

Also forgot to bring the cheap ponchos 1 year, not fun! (we go in the colder months so we skipped some of the wet rides)

Charger for our cellphones. Especially since that is the way that DH and I keep track of each other. Already have it in the bag for this trip :confused3

They don't call it the Sunshine State for nothing! Being the only female, I didn't take a hat, (I never wear them) and by the third day I was burned. My nose was peeling and my face was red. I had to buy a hat there for $25 and I won't make that mistake again. PACK A HAT! pirate:

I forgot to pack my UNDERWEAR!
Luckily, they had 5 pack for 18.00 on Main Street. Plus, I felt extra-Magical wearing my Mickey panties!

Monique :tink:

I forgot to pack DD4's swim vest. She just started liking the pool this past summer and can do all sorts of things with her swim vest on. It did matter too much though because we only went to the pool once - and that was just so the kids could go on the cool slide at BWV (it was 50 degrees out when we went in December - good thing the pool was heated!)

I too love having a nightlight. Also, make sure you bring extra batteries or a battery charger. Depending on how long you're there your Pal Mickey or camera might go kaput.

Emergency rain ponchos ($1). We brought them. After the first couple of days, we left them in the room. We got soaked. I brought them to the parks after that.

Don't anyone laugh at me please...
I have a bunch of stuff in my suitcase that stays there and I use it only on trips.
A Surge Protector Strip We always have more things to recharge than we have plugs in the room.
A plug in air freshener It works better than the ones that just sit in the room and I don't feel comfortable with candles or burners
Collapsible HampersI would rather see the dirty clothes in the hamper than on the floor
A Long bungee Cord Makes a great clothesline on the balcony for bathingsuits
Small Plastic Clothespins for the clothesline, to close the drapes
Rain Ponchos I have them in a small bag that is easy to carry if we need to bring them to the parks
light up toys etc we have bought in the past no one plays with them once we are home so I just leave them in the bags
I know there are more but it is 7:30 and I have worked all night and the brain is tired. I will update when I think of the other thiings. Peggie

An extra duffel bag. Twice now we have had to purchase more luggage to carry our souvenirs home. Once you buy a few beach towels and a mug or two, you'll find you need more space. Taking an extra collapsible duffel bag is a really good idea.

We checked an extra hard sided suitcase with botled water and prepackaged snacks. Saved money on that and it was empty for souvenirs for the trip home!!

We have brought an extra suitcase with bottled water and also Pepsi on several DCL cruises as DW does not like the coke that is served on board and it saves alot of money over the bottled water that you can buy on the ship.

i always take two clothespins with me.

sometimes the curtains don't meet or don't overlap and the light in the morning is too early for me.

i clip the clothespins to hold the curtain and not let light filter thru

Great idea! Thanks! :thumbsup2

Extra camera battery. I thought I was the master planner/packer.....plenty of film, the battery never even crossed my mind. Wouldn't you know, the low battery light came on as I went to snap my first picture after we checked in. I don't even want to discuss what it cost to buy one in the hotel gift shop! :rotfl:

On our honeymoon in 2004, my husband and I BOTH forgot to pack our glasses!!!! We wear contacts but when we take them out before bed, we need our glasses.

We came back to our new house after our reception was over, had a, um, wedding night, then flew to WDW the next day. I don't have a clue how BOTH of us left the house without our glasses. Grrrrrrrr!

We went to WDW last Feb. and flew. I forgot to pack some Immodium (please don't ask!) so we had to buy some at Panchito's (CSR). That stuff is expensive when you buy it in WDW.

Not enough sunscreen!

Last May, for the 1st time we used spray sunscreen as opposed to the lotion. We were in FL for 8 nights total (6 in WDW & 2 in St. Augustine). I was surprised at how fast we ran out of the spray sunscreen. The spray sunscreen is easier to use, but one bottle of spray sunscreen gets used a lot faster than one bottle of sunscreen lotion. A bottle of sunscreen lotion will last us all summer. We went through 2 bottles of spray sunscreen in WDW & had to purchase more when we arrived in St. Augustine.

Sunscreen lotion is probably more economical, but DH loves the spray sunscreen. The kids & I are very fair-skinned, so we have to use sunscreen every day when we're in the sun.

Anyway, this year, I'll probably pack 3 spray sunscreens & have a bottle of sunscreen lotion as a "back-up".

I also really like the idea of a collasible laundry basket - we normally just pack large trash bags for our dirty laundry. But, since we drive to WDW, it's not like we don't have room for laundry baskets - although, w/ the trash bags, I can tie the top of the bag so the dirty clothes don't spill out all over the back of the mini-van. Hmm.... something to consider....

Can of Lysol for the times you need the bathroom right after your loved one has used it. :rotfl2:
It is on my packing list for next trip.

i am the same way as you, and i work in the opitical bussiness, so i have seen it so many times.
i always make sure i take my glasses, BUT the other thing is i always pack at least two other set of contacts.

i have a camera bag that is big but not that big i always but ANOTHER set of contacts in there. but i know my hubby would be upset and i would be so upset if i lost a contact in the park and then we had to go back to the hotel to get another one, or not have on at all... i wouldnt be able to do anything without them either

so extra contacts is on my list

DH doesn't like the light either. He uses a hangar from the hotel room...one of the ones with clips on it. Then you don't have to pack anything.

I fold up and pack an extra thin nylon duffle to use as a laundry bag. It is handy for carrying to the laundry room. After I put all the dirty clothes in the washer I put the empty duffle in, too, so it is clean for the clean clothes.

The duffle can double as a pool tote or daybag. Infinitely useful.
