It seems like a lot of us are involved with singing, acting, and dancing so I made a thread for it! :)

this is a cool thread to start. at my school, i am going to be in our spring production of MY FAIR LADY

(I've been involved in theater since I was in 1st grade) My school is putting on "Harvey" right now ( for those of you who have never heard of it, it's basically about a guy who thinks that he see's a 6 foot tall rabbit). Lest term we put on "Fools" and I was involved in tech. (I did mostly costuming and make-up) but for this play there's now a tech class and since this director (who is also the drama teacher, and the reason why I didn't try out to be in the play) sucks she's only letting the tech class do all the work on props, costumes, and sets. So what the rest of us who signed up to help with tech are suppose to do, I have no idea :confused3! But if it's anything like last time then we will be doing nothing !!!! so I'm preying that she will quite, or be fired so that I will actually want to be in the play!

I've been working with my high school drama club since I was 9 (we cast little kids for our musicals). We're doing Little Shop of Horrors (about a nerdy florist who finds a bloodthirsty plant). I'm one of the student directors and a Street Person.

I've been doing theater for... 3 years now. Not very long, but I love doing it. Right now, I'm currently in Fiddler on the Roof at my school. I'm playing Mendel, the Rabbi's son. Past credits include:

The Wizard of Oz- Ozian Polisher/Winkie
Beauty & The Beast- The Egg Man/Castle Servant
High School Musical- Ripper the Skaterdude
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat- Children's Choir Ensemble
Looking Glass Land- Fight Crowd/Baseball Fan/Chess Piece
Seussical Jr.- Vlad Vladikoff/Ensemble
Honk! Jr.- Chicken/Froglet

I think that's all of them. I also was in stage crew for The Diary of Anne Frank at my school

I've been doing theater for about 10 years now. My High School just did Oliver! and I was the Artful Dodger.

My favorite roles so far have been:
Oliver!- The Artful Dodger
A Midsummer Night's Dream- Puck
The Phantom Tollbooth- Milo

Even though I'm a girl I always end up having to play little boys because I'm really short :rotfl:

I've only been in one play and it was The Wizard of Oz and I was in the Chorus. I was a tree, a monkey, and a citizen of oz. This year I'm gonna try out for the sidekick role in our upcoming play.

Past roles with my HS drama troupe include:

Pippin-Elementary Cast (I won an Academy Award for this show)
Bye Bye Birde-EC
Oklahoma!-EC
Guys and Dolls-EC
Hello Dolly-Ensemble
D*** Yankees-Baseball Fan
The Foreigner-Crew (Prompter)
Jesus Christ Superstar-Ensemble/Cripple Girl in "This Jesus Must Die"
Dracula-The Child
Little Shop of Horrors (we're doing this one right now)-Street Person and Student Director

YOU LUCKY DUCKY :/
our school was supposed to do fiddler on the roof, but insetad they decided to do the play that was written specifically for my school a while back.

so now were doing Tuffree's Victory Canteen Radio Show

which is still okay :)

there arent any main roles

I loved being in plays and stuff when i was younger :cutie:

then i became all shy and didnt do any plays :guilty:

this year is my first one since 4th grade :scared1:

Im doin Tuffree's Victory Canteen Radio Show

Im Mary :) lol. Im in the mystery act, and iys basicly kinda like clue... like whodunnit aahaha. and the cool thing is, im the one who killed my husband :scared1:

ahaha. and whats even wierder is... this guy ive known FOREVER is the one whos arresting me O_o the reason its so wierd is cuz when we were younger, wed play cops and robbers. and id always arrest him xD lol.

In the past, i have done TREASURE ISLAND, ANNIE, 12 ANGRY JURORS, AND MY FAIR LADY. I hope that my school does SCROOGE for a christmas musical and MOULIN ROUGE for a spring musical.:goodvibes

I've been a dancer for 10 years however I've only been in one musical, Anything Goes. It was sooooo fun though. I would love to be more involved with theater but I'm more committed to my athletics.

Still dancing though :cool1:

My school did Little Shop of Horrors as well (I just wasn't in high school when they did it) but these are the other plays that I have been in:
The Hobbit - An elf
The jungle book- a villager
Alice in Wonder Land- Troubadour (scariest role of my life!)
The Mad Adventures of Mr. Toad - a weasel
Then the year I left they did The little Mermaid, so yes, except for the Hobbit, my school had a major Disney theme going on! (perfect for this board:))
Then I took an acting class and we did a segment were we each sang a Disney song!!! I got to be Belle (my favorite princess:)) and sing "there's been a change in me" (which is from the Broadway musical), and I also got to be a Muss (that's probably not how you spell it) and sing back-up for I Wont Say (I'm in Love) (From Hercules). So I feel like I could just move to Disney and perform in all of those shows they have! (jk)

My school just finished doing the Miracle Worker, I was Annie Sullivan! I love Drama club so much!

i've been apart of theatre since i was 8 years old been in 20+ shows, but i enjoyed watching it for forever! some of my favorite roles have been:

Annie- Ms. hannigan
Oklahoma- Ado annie
Pirates of penzance- Mable
Madeline's christmas- Madeline
Annie(again)-Molly
Disney on the record!-Maddie(female lead)
*Honk!- Fluff
*Christmas carol- martha cratchit/ caroler/ apple seller/ dancer

*= where professional preductions fully paid with adults off-broadway in chicago. i'm really proud of those shows, and i've had co-stars go off to broadway. curently, one will be in ehoopi's new musical white noise which is s starting to get very hyped and possibly will be up for a tony in 2012!

then i've had smaller roles in the following: Mulan, Oliver, Cinderella, Footloose, peter pan, Excalibur, Night Watch, wizard of oz... and i'm forgetting some!!! theatre IS my life, and it's what i love to do. unfortunately, the musical director at my high school, my choir teacher, will not and have not cast me in the musical freshman and sophomore year because i've had "too much experience" we're doing secret garden this year... and everyone thought i was a shoe-in for mary.

so question, what are YOUR dream roles?

mine are Eponine in Les Miserables, Ariel in THe Little Mermaid and Peter Pan!
