Are there any lessons ya'll would like this year? I think I'm going to scale back on the swap hosting since going to Mod mode. So I was thinking of doing some more classes. What would ya'll like to see?

I can add it to the swap calendar so I can plan it around DH's schedule.
here is the link to past classes.

Syllabus Suggestions:
word/shape books
Altering altoid tins, band-aid tins, and cd-cases
Journaling shapes, how do people get their words to circle or wrap around things
altered decor - wood, canvas, clocks
make your own rub ons
making the ordinary extraordinary - repurposing items for bigger and better things
cricut 101- assembling
cricut 102 - what it is vs. what it can be
stamping 101 -
altered coaster calendar -http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/tm.aspx?m=1345974

What a great idea! I just completed watching all your classes and I'm ready to try a shaker box. I love the pictures of each step-great teaching!

How about one of the word/shape books?
Altering those little altoid tins, band-aid tins, and cd-cases?
Journaling shapes, how do people get their words to circle or wrap around things?

I haven't figured out the journalling shapes yet but when I learn, you'll learn.

As for altering well I'm your gal! That I can do!

The word shape books like Lindababe's Believe book? I could probably do that too.

thanks!!! I tried to make it as easy to follow as possible. I'm a visual learner so just reading it doesn't help at all.

I'd love to try a Word book--one of your classes would sure help!! :)

When you say journaling shapes, you're talking about computer typing? it's all about the settings to make it work

1) I can do that!

2) but I can't do that. I have a Mac so I can't use the software.

3) huh??? :confused3

Thanks for offering! How about some decopage (sp?) on wood? Or some scrap-on-the-wall type things. My hubby likes my scrapbooks, but likes it when I make things that can just be hung up or put on the shelf and someone can just come in and look at it.

Journaling shapes, how do people get their words to circle or wrap around things?

Are you trying to do a particular shape? As far as a circle, there is a step-by-step guide here: http://www.creatingkeepsakes.com/hostess/tips.ihtml, just scroll down to "Place your text in a circle" (almost the very bottom of the page)

How to use that new design softwear for it!

Not a tutorial, but might be helpful if you already downloaded the software: http://www.creatingkeepsakes.com/mag/article.ihtml?index_field=2083&_start_page_=1&issue=&backIssue=

The other option for journaling in shapes is making your own rub-ons. I do that all the time, and it's fantastic.

I hope they release the software for mac, I would much prefer to use my laptop than have to move a computer into my scrapbook room... but it looks like that is my option for now. Hopefully I can get that done in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, I can help with the software. I am a born again computer nerd. :p

1) I3) huh??? :confused3

Sorry! That wasn't too clear. :lmao: Two things actually.

1. Altered anything for a new purpose other than that for which it was intended, especially if the end result is useful. I LOVE doing paint cans and exploding boxes - MORE I want MORE!

2. Cricut specific - how to 'see' the diecuts as assembleable into things other than what they were illustrated to be. Some people can take punchies and turn them into flowers or wizard embellishments and I look at the punchie and see whatever punched shape it was and nothing more :confused3

Did that clarify or make the fog worse?

I did a paint can for my sister for her birthday and she loved it (pictures are on my blog - scrappingchick.blogspot.com)

Buffy, I learned to do the circle journaling from the same link KerTggr just sent you :D

Using stamps. Yeah, how difficult can it be? I get it all blobby or, if I do a scrap stamp first, all the ink comes off and it looks blotchy:confused3 I'm better with the cats eyes but the CTMH pens are really washy:headache:

the fog is lifting!! I get it now.

1. making the ordinary, extraordinary

2. cricut 102- what it is vs. what it can be
