While waiting for dinner I saw part of The Sword In The Stone on Disney+ and I first saw the film during movie day at my school when I was a little girl and I also have the VHS copy of it and I found it really funny and cool and Merlin reminded me so much of my dad in his personality but the owl is kind of annoying. Do you like The Sword In The Stone too?

Sword in the Stone is one of those movies that I want to like, but don't really. The episodic nature leads it to be disjointed - it's basically turn into a different animal and learn a lesson, and then there is a rushed conclusion. I do like Merlin, especially the magic battle with Madame Mim, but the rough edges definitely don't make it a favorite of mine.

My brother and I watched this movie often as a kid. It's one that has it's moments. Merlin and Madam Mims interactions are probably some of the best parts. Arthur was kind of whiny, Archemesies the owl slightly annoying. Merlin was usually a highlight.

Was Merlin played by Sebastian Cabot? Wasn't Sebastian Cabot from Family Affair? I had no idea he played the voice of Merlin in The Sword In The Stone and he was funny in the role

Cabot played Sir Ector, not Merlin. Merlin was played by a different actor, Karl Swenson. Cabot also played Bagheera.

They should make live action remake. The wizard duel would be good . Have Tilda Swinton as Madame Mim.
