I see that Bowling Alleys are moving to Surge Pricing-BOWLING ALLEYS!

What is next?

Surge Pricing is annoying to the MAX!

Haven't been in one in ages, they always smelled like smoke, beer, feet & fries to me which is what I imagined Mel's Diner would smell like.

How much did your bowling alley go up in price? I used to take the kids early mid week during summer breaks and could always find coupons but that was a while back.

Movie theaters are doing this too (specifically AMC) and yet they wonder why less people are going to the movies lol

I haven't been to a bowling alley in years. Don't have any desire to.

I saw an article about it-could not believe it.

Isn't AMC jsut charging for the better seats though? It's not based on the more popular showings too, is it?

I know AMC charged more for tickets for the Batman when that came out and I remember reading that it could also vary on what movie it is but I don't think the new policy has been implemented yet on a wider level. It's only in a few cities in the US.

Oh, but by the movie, not necessarily based on a surge of ticket sales. I guess it's expected sales they can go on. It still all stinks too.

I remember decades ago bowling alleys having cheaper prices during weekday afternoons.

Bowling alleys around here have always been more expensive during peak times - weekends, etc.

I think there is a difference though in that and "surge pricing." To me, surge pricing is when they get busy and start charging more immediately, not when it is planned around specific times and everyone still pays the same during those pre-determined windows. Maybe I'm not thinking about it correctly, but that's how I see it.
