If you are looking to bash our President, would you please consider starting your own thread. This is safe ground for Bush Apologists to discuss the strategies and tactics they use to justify the actions of our President.

I will also remind those that wish to post here that Bush Apologists do not engage in independent critical thinking. Our job as Bush Apologists is to validate the actions of our President no matter what. The last thing we need is for Bush Apologists to start thinking for themselves.

I bring this up because lately I have noticed that many Bush Apologists are foolishly dabbling in independent thought. I shouldn’t have to remind you, but I will nevertheless: thinking for ourselves is always dangerous. It is my belief that objective political analysis has been the primary reason behind many of the recent defections from Team Bush.

Sure, recent events have left many of us Bush Apologists somewhat discombobulated. Sometimes I think the only thing that has prevented me from falling into the abyss of self-hating liberalism is the daily affirmation I receive from Sean Hannity. It is comforting to know that through Mr. Hannity, we Bush Apologists have unfettered access to Whitehouse directives and talking points. This has helped me maintain my role as an unthinking foot soldier in the Bush Apologist army.

For instance, just the other day I heard a neighbor saying he disagreed with Bush’s decision to let our ports come under the control an Arabic company. Immediately I went to work. With a little digging I found out that this neighbor is a veteran who served in the Marines during the first Gulf War. I then confided to my other neighbors that this gentleman may have served in the Marines, but in all probability the medals he received were the result of lies and half truths he told his superiors. You know, just like Senator Kerry did in the Vietnam War. Thanks go out to Karl Rove and his Swiftvets for this strategy. Try it yourself sometime. Trashing someone’s service record is a remarkably efficient way to destroy a man’s reputation. I’m pretty sure my neighbor will think twice before he criticizes our president again.

In the meantime, though, we Bush Apologists have found ourselves a little light on manpower. So if you are a Bush Apologist and you have an easily swayed heterosexual friend who has shown a past willingness to defend indefensible points of view, please consider recruiting them to our cause.

I so thought I was going to be irritated when I clicked on this..... :lmao: :lmao:

Good stuff! May I suggest an addendum or two?

As a Bush apologist, it's very important to mis-label opinion pieces as "articles" when they support your point of view. As a recent example, make sure that when you post editorials such as "Bush was right" that you claim it's an article even though it states in the link itself that it's an editorial. Don't worry though, only you know that there's no difference between the two.

On the flip side, make sure that you smear any source used by those misguided Bush enemies who keep insisting on trying to introduce facts into the debate. Since Bush is the greatest president ever, anything that says otherwise (even if the author is a pulitzer-winning author) must obviously be inaccurate no matter how many facts it may correctly cite. On the other hand, anything that supports your point is automatically valid, no matter how obscure it may be or regardless of the original source.

So for instance, feel free to dismiss a straight news article in the Washington post as "opinion" when the facts are working against you, but go right ahead and cite FatBoy.com when you feel like smearing Ted Kennedy. (This technique is known in journalistic circles as "the Dawn Effect")

After all, the latest poll just released has an approval rating of 34% for the greatest president ever, so you know you have most of the country behind you!

Don't forget Dick Cheney's 18%. Now that's got to be a record low for a VP!

Please, put a warning on threads like this.

These just make my heart sing:

"See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda." --George W. Bush, Greece, N.Y., May 24, 2005

"Those who enter the country illegally violate the law." —George W. Bush, Tucson, Ariz., Nov. 28, 2005

"My thoughts are, we're going to get somebody who knows what they're talking about when it comes to rebuilding cities." —George W. Bush, on rebuilding New Orleans, Biloxi, Miss., Sept. 2, 2005

"The relations with, uhh — Europe are important relations, and they've, uhh — because, we do share values. And, they're universal values, they're not American values or, you know — European values, they're universal values. And those values — uhh — being universal, ought to be applied everywhere." —George W. Bush, at a press conference with European Union dignitaries, Washington, D.C., June 20, 2005

"I can only speak to myself." —George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., April 28, 2005

Thank you, Mr. President.

MossMan, I do believe you are a tease :rotfl:

Great thread!

I feel kinda bad though - shouldn't we leave this thread for the thirty something percent that actually do support the President?

Your poor neighbor! :sad2:

Are you kidding, that was nothing. A true Bush Apologist is willing to go to virtually any length to defend the honor of George W Bush.

For instance, I got my Grandmother fired 6 weeks before she was eligible for her pension when she had the nerve to suggest there might be no Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq. It doesn’t matter that she has since been proved correct. The fact remains that she had the gall to question our President in a time of war. And until she apologizes for the comfort she has brought our enemies, she can stay in that homeless shelter.
