DH and I vacationed in the World from September 5th through the 14th...here are some tips/obervations...

Although it's hurricane season and we went in between 2 (Hanna and Ike :scared1: ) All in all it was a good time to go.
It only rained on 2 days while we were there, and the rest of the time is was Hot and Super Humid! :beach:

We stayed off property this year. The first 2 nights were spent at the Best Western LBV. No real problems with this place other than some minor confusion with Hotels.com messing up our reservation, but after a few phone calls the facility was VERY accomodating. :thumbsup2

The rest of our trip was spent at Diamond Resorts' Grand Beach Facility. This is a pretty nice place...it was extremely quiet and relaxing! The rooms were clean and comfortable and housekeeping was always around if you needed them. My ONLY complaint is about their laundry facilities...They were outside! Trying to dry clothes in a dryer outside in 100% Florida humidity was next to impossible! Most other places have indoor facilities...we WILL be prepared next time!

Here are a few pics...

Next up - Parking at the World...

This is actually quite easy. No problems with this at all. Here are some things we learned during this process that may be helpful to you in the future:
  • Instead of trying to remember where you park, send a text message to yourself...
or just take a picture with that pretty new digital camera you bought for the trip! :thumbsup2
For example:

Trust me...this comes in VERY handy at the end of a long day of walking!

Also, we were not aware of this...if you pay for parking at one park, and then want to leave and go and park at another...
Guess what? You DO NOT have to pay again!
Just show your initial parking placard and you will be fine! That was a big DUH on our part!

You can also park at the Transportation and Ticket Center and go to pretty much ANY of the parks using Disney Transportation! :woohoo:

Another tip...parking at most resorts is FREE!
We had lunch at the Beach Club one day and then spent the rest of the day in the World Showcase. No Problems! :thumbsup2

Please stay tuned!

DH and I are in our 30's without children and we VERY much enjoy going to Disney.
This trip was particularly special because we were in no rush.
We were there 10 days and decided to take it easy! :thumbsup2

And now on to the Parks...

Let's start with the Magic Kingdom!

We had an Early morning ADR and Cinderella's Royal Table as part of our Anniversary Celebration.
It was AWESOME to be able to enter the park before it opened! There was something so Magical about it...
It was quiet and almost as if you could feel the place coming to life. I loved it!

Getting and early ADR and getting in the park before 8am allowed us the opportunity to take pictures without any crowds in them!
I highly recommend this!

As for Breakfast at CRT. It was pretty good!

I was feeling a little ill that morning, so I opted for the healthier breakfast. I didn't feel like I wasted any money on this because it was delicious!
My husband more than had his fair share of food and especially liked the way they turned Hash Browns into Mashed Potatoes for Breakfast!
(I will more than likely be trying to re-create that recipe at home!)

I also enjoyed having all of the Princesses in one place. Jasmine and Snow White were my favorites.
I think they were beautiful and looked like they were straight out of the movies!
I also enjoyed the "Wishing" Portion of the meal!

It was Extremely humid most of the time we were there, but I can tell you with confidence that the lines were almost non-exsistent. :thumbsup2

We walked on most all of the rides.
This was the Stand-By time for Buzz Lightyear...

As for beating the heat, we found a few little things to do that I wanted to share...

First-
Buy one of those little portable fans.
They're cute, and they do the job if you're standing in line!
They sell ones with water spritzers attached, but this is the cheaper one we purchased...

Second
Sir Mickeys Benches are cool! (literally)
There are 2 benches outside of this store nearest to the castle.
They are in the shade and because they are outside of the store, they get a draft from the Air Conditioning.
It was a refreshing surprise!

Third
Hop on the train! We got on a rode it a few times...it's shady and VERY relaxing.
It's one of our new Favorite things to do! :thumbsup2
