The strangest Halloween treats thread.

I wish mine got playdoh! I was even looking for them but couldnt find any to send in to school this year? mine play for hours with those things!! We did also get soda and it came in handy at the end of the night!

My daughter was SO happy not to get any of those crappy little cans of play doh this year!!! She would have chosen the can of soda for sure!!

why must you be so critical of what others hand out...it is not weird or crappy, and no I dont hand those out, candy and crunchy cheese balls here, the kids have a choice.

My kids dont like soda, they dont like carbonation, so they would have taken something to be polite but the younger one would have still played with the playdoh if it was given to him

My DD got mostly candy, but one house gave her a "homemade" Jesus bookmark. It was a piece of white paper folded over about 8 times and had a drawing of Jesus on the front with the wording, "look to the light, not the dark".

If you are religious and againest Halloween, then just turn your dang light off!

The best was the lady in our neighborhood who owns a bakery in town. She made individual cinnamon rolls and they were nice and hot! I even got one of those!

This year like every year my kids got the holey roller million dollar bill but in addition to that they got these little booklets titled "are you a good person"

Do you live in Indiana? My kids got the same thing. They also gave out a coin with the 10 Commandments on them.

I was handing out candy and saw a can of Friskies cat food in one of the kid's bags. I asked who's giving out cat food and she said the lady down the street asked if she has a cat at home and gave her a can of cat food in addition to candy.

At least she asked if she had a cat...lol

I know a couple folks who were giving out small rubber chickens as tricks along with candy.

a) where do you even get small rubber chickens?

b) where do you buy said small rubber chickens in bulk?

Last night we were almost out of candy, so I told dh to go in the drawer and get some new pencils

He comes back with pencils that say - Happy Birthday,Its a Boy, Merry Christmas and I Love Germany!!, also brought back some granola bars, hot choc packets etc. There was no way I was giving that stuff out. I told him to get some quarters instead. Ds18 went to the store for more candy.

Not even close in weirdness compared to most of these posts, but my dd brought home 2 peppermints...complete with the Sonic logo. We wondered if these folks saved them up all year so they didn't have to actually buy any candy.

My DDs each got two different cards inviting them to 2 different churches to attend two different services for children to learn to "walk in the light" or "learn about your Savior".

A. Its Halloween. Give me the candy. Or turn off your porch lights and go to bed.
B. We are not religious. Thanks anyway.
c. Are you really looking to get your rosebushes toilet-papered?!?

My 9 year old and 2 year old each got a handful of old, broken, mini candy canes from LAST Christmas.

I know this because one of the packages actually had a "born on" stamp on it.

Middle DS and Youngest DS got Sunflower seeds from someone. They decided to try them while walking. We were feeding the birds and squirrels las night.

The other strange things that they got - Yoo-Hoos, Capri-Sun and Pringles - though Youngest DS was over the moon about those pringles.

Oldest DS went TOTing in another town with some friends. Like OP he got a halloween orange toothbrush - but at least his had a pixie stix attached to it.

The strangest thing we encountered last night was a pumpkin engulfed in flames. We thought the guys house was going to catch fire. But can I tell you - eau du scorched pumpkin carries quite a ways.

The strangest thing my kids got last night was a card good for "one free week of tae kwon do." They were pretty excited about it and kept talking about how they wanted to go back to the house and get more free weeks Runner up was a fiber bar...

Our elderly neighbor 2 houses down was giving out sandwiches--ham or turkey in what looked like small dinner rolls. DH ate the ones our kids brought home since he says he knows and likes the man, we've been neighbors 14 years, we see him in church all the time. He said they were fine. But DD's friends threw theirs away, said they smelled weird, can't blame them.

DD got an AVON catalog last night. It was probably Karma though. She and DH went through her toy box and gave the kids old McDonalds Happy Meal toys and Hot Wheels cars (along with candy)

mine went out with friends last night and the oddest thing they got was their picture taken. Someone looking to boost their business I guess... the kids said they had to sign their name on a list and everyone got their photo taken. I have looked at her web site and nothing about halloween on it yet.
