The "Strange Facts About Me" Thread.

ºOº I still have a gray spot in my palm from where I accidentally stabbed myself with a pencil more than twelve years ago.

Me too! And mine was about 12 years ago. I did it at work and the pencil tip got stuck. Our VP worked on it as he was a former military medic. I ended up being sent to the ER because he couldn't get it out and he felt horrible he couldn't help.

When I was about 10/11 yeras old I was a member of Arnold Horshack fan club - from Welcome Back Kotter - I had an autographed picture and everything! I didn't understand why Vinnie was all that and frankly I still don't.
;)

*I don't eat anything that ran, swam, flew or pooped.
* I would leave my husband in a heartbeat for Willie Nelson.

So, then, you mean it's not a strange fact? :teeth:

In no specific order:
1. I'm one of the only girls in my school who can't stand Twilight
2. I've never been to either DisneyWorld or DisneyLand
3. I HATE clothes shopping.
4. I don't "get" romance, and don't ever plan to. I'd rather read a good book or something...
5. I'm 15 and I'd rather read a good book than go to a school dance.
6. I'd rather be in the "freak show" clique in my school than be popular. (Which is where "they" put me, which is stupid, I don't do cliques, which I told them a thousand times, but they refuse to listen...)
7. ...I'll tell you the "big one" if you promise not to laugh at me, flame me, or anything like that...

I moved across the country twice in four months.

I stood on the field of Three Rivers Stadium and PNC Park.

I can be in two different states (other than the one I live in) in less than five minutes.

Both of my labors started with my water breaking. The first happened at work!

I watched a scene of "The Deer Hunter" being filmed.

I never mowed a lawn in my life.

I've seen four babies (besides my own) being born by c-section. I was a surg tech student and I stood right by the DR and assisted him for two of them. It was the most incredible thing I have ever seen!

All right... I'll just say one of my biggest secrets ever:THIS GUY IS ONE OF MY BIGGEST HEROES!!!:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvin_the_Martian

*cricket noises in the background as everyone stares blankly at this post, trying understand what is wrong with this girl...*

Don't get me wrong, he's not my hero because he tries to do stuff like destroy the world or anything, but because of his brains, sweet personality, (which is shown more often in Duck Dodgers), and things like that... I don't have a crush on him or anything like that... I also look up to him because he's a genius who never loses his cool under pressure, (most of the time, that is...) I mean- HOW CAN HE NOT BE AWESOME HE'S A MARTIAN FOR CRYIN' OUT LOUD!!! *blinks repeatedly* Sorry, I kinda blacked out there for a secound.

Anyway...

I thought of another.. my mom and stepdad get along with my dad and stepmom. So much in fact, that when my dad and stepmom came out to visit us when I still lived at home, they stayed with us.

I passed out on Valentines Day at an expensive restaurant right after eating shell fish.

I like eating dough sometimes

I'm not afraid of spiders

I've been hang gliding

I like raw vegetables a lot more than cooked ones

I don't have a favorite food or number

I LOVE  Marvin the Martian. One of my favorite Looney Tunes lines ever comes after Duck Dogers has foiled one of his weapons, and Marvin says "What happened to the kaboom?? There was supposed to be an earth-shattering kaboom?!?" We use that line a lot around 4th of July when lighting off fireworks. :lmao:

AWESOME!! Another Marvin the Martian fan!! *hi fives* That's also my favorite line too!!:goodvibes

Here's some other weird stuff about me:

I don't have a crush on them or anything, but I strongly believe that these guys look hotter than Robert Patterson, (or whatever his last name is):

1. I was 12 years old before I realized there was other music than country.

2. Dolly Parton is my favorite singer. I want to see her in concert before I die.

3. My DH is almost 9 years older than me. He never proposed to me. We dated for 7 years and I told him I was setting a wedding date. We got married 10 months later.

4. We went to Dollywood on our honeymoon.

5. I live next door to my first love.

6. My DD14 had the same 5th grade teacher I had.

7. I am the treasurer for my church.

I don't know how to parallel park.

I have a secret crush on Harry Potter and I don't think Ginny is good enough for him.

I have a desire to lick chicken bouillon cubes every time I use them (but I don't.)

Sometimes when I am bored with a conversation, I type what is being said on an imaginary keyboard, but I do it without being noticed.

I was born with 6 toes on my right foot. The funniest thing is no one noticed until I had been home for 2 wks. I had the toe removed when I was 6 months old. I still have a web of skin between my baby toe and the one next to it. Hurts like the Dickens when I bump into something. :headache:

  1. I've known my best friend for almost 20 years... we were in the infant room at our daycare together. We don't see each other often now that we're in college, but we still chat occasionally and always call each other on our birthdays.
  2. My entire family thought that I would be taller than my cousins... they were wrong. At age 20, I'm not even 5'4", and my cousins are about 5'8" or 5'9" at ages 16 and 18.
  3. I've performed with Shirley Jones from The Partridge Family... she's one of the nicest people I've ever met!
  4. I conquered my fear of heights when I was 15... I worked at a regional theatre in their summer program for high school students and ran a spotlight from a 25-foot tower that I had to climb a ladder to get to.
  5. I went backstage at a Broadway show when I was 11. It still ranks among the best experiences of my life.
  6. I've performed in over 30 plays and musicals, but haven't done any since I was a senior in high school.
  7. I've memorized the entire first scene of "Annie" - I've played an orphan 3 times... I will always remember this first scene.
  8. I can wiggle my ears... it freaks people out!
  9. I've seen over 60 Broadway shows... many several times. The last one I saw was "Hair", and I went on stage during the big dance party they have at the end! :hippie:
  10. I have yet to pass my driving test... although everyone thinks I should've passed it the last time.
  11. I have a sick addiction to shoes... I bought two pairs just yesterday.
  12. My favorite Disney character is Marie from "The Aristocats", because my middle name is Marie. I also take a particular liking to Dory from "Finding Nemo" - I often channel my inner Dory.
  13. Pink is my favorite color... my bed room, cell phone, and most of the accessories for my dorm room are all pink.

4. Back in 2000, I developed gas gangrene in my right hand.. (Freak accident with a brand new screwdriver and a puncture wound to the palm of my hand..) I had to have emergency surgery to save my life and they thought they were going to have to amputate my right hand.. The surgeon later used my experience as a case study for interns at a large medical center because gas gangrene is seen so infrequently nowadays..

this reminded me of when I was 16 and I had a razor nick on my leg and it got infected. I went to the hospital and got meds and it got WORSE. my dad brought me in while helping me walk. I had a staph (or strep?) infection and had to be hospitalized for 3 days with an iv. My leg was red almost all the way around!

I have one that is really more-so for my mom. All females who are pregnant wish for this.

I was the laziest baby ever.
Case and point, my mom drove herself to the hospital since my dad was out golfing, she said it wasn't that bad. A few hours later (before my Dad finished golfing and got home), I was already born. I also enjoyed sleeping through the night when I was a baby so much that my mom took me to the hospital to make sure nothing was wrong with me.

I am also the 3rd of 7 children and the only son. My sisters on the other hand... not so forgiving to my parents.

I have another one. When my cousin and I were younger, she looked 13 when she was 17 and I looked 17 when I was 12. Everyone told us that she'd be glad of that when we were older because she'd look younger than her age. Well, since about the age of 18 people have thought that I was at least a year or so (a year at that point, 5 years or so now...still get ID'd all the time at 32) younger than I was and she looks her age.
