Ever been there? DD (college aged) was telling me about it when we passed one in NJ this past weekend...says it's a fun store, but that it's hit or miss. We didn't have time to stop tho. There's one about an hour and a half from me, and as a RIer, that's an adventurous drive. ;) Was wondering what people thought of it. I was thinking in terms of stocking stuffers.

If you're not familiar with the store, everything is $5 or lower. I had never heard of it before this past weekend.

um not really worth the drive. I have scored great deals on books. Sabuda pop ups for $5! And they have computer games. But the rest of the stuff is really the kind you can find at the Target Dollar spot.

If it was closer I would say take the drive. Mine is 30 minutes away- I go when I am in the area I wouldn't make a special trip for it. jmho.

We Love 5 Below here...but youhave to watch out..they have stuff u would see at the dollar store for 2 and 3$, but then you can find other stuff for way less then you would see at some other stores..for example my daughters like THE LITTLEST PETSHOP stuff..they have a stuffed animal one that you can play on line with for $5 other stores close to 10$. When I was there this past weekend, they had only one style of the stuffed animal, sonot always a huge variety..you just have to watch what you are buying and ask yourself "Can I find this at the dollar store?"

They are hit or miss. got the kids some things for the beach last summer.. also a good spot to stop for candy to take into the movie theater next door. :thumbsup2

Not worth a special trip.

They are really a glorified dollar store; however, the stuff can be a "tad" nicer. They have a good candy selection and, I've got my son some Simpson's stuff in the past (key chains, magnets, etc). During the start of the school year, they often have nice notebooks and folders. I haven't looked at the books because they are for younger kids and I don't have those anymore! Sometimes my DD would find hair accessories there.

It's pretty good, but only a 5 minute drive for me. Great for party favors. I think I'm going to buy stock - ran in there yesterday to get some gc's, 30 people on line, but one cashier. I left.

They've been around since about 2000. I have great loyalty to Five Below because my daughter won a Xbox (non 360) on one of their grand opening specials.

I think this was the grand opening for the very first store in King of Prussia PA back in 2000. Now the stores have spread all over PA, NJ, DE, VA< MD and such like that.

I am within walking distance to one and others are nearby. It is a good store for fun easy things-- sort of like an upscale dollar store with current fad type things.

You do have to watch it though. I have a dollar store in the same plaza so I do the "Can I get it cheaper there?"
