We will be attending Fantasmic in Hollywood Studios, which ends at 7:25 pm . Could we make it to the Spirit of Aloha for the 8:15 pm show at the Polynesian?

I don't think so. It will take you a while to get out of the stadium at HS and up to the front of the park, and you are supposed to be at the show at Poly significantly early (I don't remember exactly how long, maybe 30 min?). Sorry.

I don't think there is any way you could make that show. It will take at least 10 - 15 minutes to get to the front of DHS. If you take uber, maybe. But I don't think you would even make it to Poly any earlier than 8:15 pm and you need to be there earlier for check-in. IMHO, there is no way I would spend that much on Spirit of Aloha with the chance of missing a substantial portion of it.

Ok, I have 18 and 16 year old boys. Should I skip Fantasmic and attend the Luau then? It is hard to know with boys this age.

Go to Fantasmic. I think your boys will like that much better than the Luau. And if you haven’t already done it your boys might prefer the Hoop Dee Doo Revue dinner show at Fort Wilderness more than the Luau. The Luau gets very mixed reviews.

I would go to Fantasmic. I really like the luau, but I bet the boys would be bored.

Depends if youre trying to get a whole evening out of it, Maybe a Sci-Fi dinner with Fantasmic?

My boys are typical boys...sports, video games, hanging out with friends etc. They actually liked the Luau. They probably would never go again, but to see once and have the Polynesian food, which you cant get anywhere around where I am from, they liked the experience. It was something completely different than anything we could do at home.

With teen boys, I would go to Fantasmic. I think the luau, particularly the first act, will bore them to tears!

We really did not like Fantasmic that well, but you could go to it and then Sci Fi for dinner.

Unfortunately, Spirit of Aloha has not aged well. The experience is disappointingly anachronistic: from the show, to the meal, to the venue. This is has not been a premier Walt Disney World experience for decades. It would have wonderful potential in the hands a great refurbishment team.

Enjoy Fantasmic (which could also use a bit of updating, despite its most recent upgrades).

Enjoy your trip!

If it were me I would book the SW dessert party and forget Spirit of Aloha and Fantasic lol. The fireworks at HS is so amazing ! I know your teens would love it.

I agree with this. I think your boys would enjoy this more than than fantasmic and you are not going to make the luau anyways so why rush out and try. Have dinner at 50's Primetime and then watch the fireworks. It will be more relaxed and easier to manage.

I also agree with maryj11 & addiln as my two stepsons were annoyed that they had to sit through Fantasmic. However guys never grow out of Starwars. Even DH still likes Starwars. I wouldn't try to take them to the Luau either. Both of these shows are more for me & DD & DH. Plus what teen doesn't like dessert?
