The Sky is: "(fill in the blank)"

DH is coming home early today, so I might not be able to stick around much longer.

Keep the party going! :dance3::dance3: I'll be back when I can!

back to the wine........ I saw a bumper sticker today that said "squeeze me, press me, make me wine"

Unfortunately I'm not a wine person (whine yes, wine no). I'm a beer person but have apparently developed an allergy to it in the past two years or so. Three out of four times, after about 2-3 sips I break out in a rash, hives and my face and ears burn as if I'm on fire and get beat red. I'm not a happy camper. :headache: I don't like drinks, per se, except maybe a pina coloda or a kaluha and milk and, realistically, how many of those things can you drink before you feel sick? :confused3 But I keep trying!

Hmmm sounds like you're allergic to the hops in the beer. My dh has the same problem, not as bad as your reaction though. He's sad about it, but moved on to something stronger :thumbsup2

Weird how I've been a beer drinker all these years and now I'm allergic. :confused3 Someone suggested I see an allergist, but really, so I can drink beer? :rotfl:

Sorry about your reaction. Actually, I don't drink at all. I'm currently nursing and it seems like I've been either pregnant or nursing my entire adult life. I was pregnant with DD9 on my 21st b-day. Had a little break, and its been baby, nursing, baby, nursing, a few months off, baby, nursing, baby, and currently nursing.

Sure did!! Thanks for asking.

And I hope you had a wonderful day, too! Or, should I say funderful

Thank you. I has been a funderful day. :goodvibes I'm trying to be "good". But I really want a hot fudge sunday. :upsidedow

I posted this as a thread on CB, but I really need input ASAP:

I need advice and I need it quick -- like within 1/2 hour. I'll try to make this short.

DD is a 90+ average student, except for religion (Catholic school). Always got first honors, except for last marking period -- second honors, only because she didn't do as well in religion as she needed to. That one class kept her behind. The reason she did poorly was lack of effort, plain and simple. On a number of occasions I've caught her lying to me -- about studying, grades, tests, etc. and she was punished each time. She took a religion test before Easter break and swore to me she didn't get it back before the break. After Easter break she brings me a home a test (I think it was in the upper 80's) and tells me this was "the" test. I'm assuming things are going well.

Tonight DD wants to go out to a dance at one of the schools. She has very little social life and rarely goes out. She just handed me her progress report that shows that her average in religion is an 80. Apparently the lying has continued and there are a number of tests I hadn't seen and which were hidden from me.

So, do I let her go, because I feel she needs to start having a social life and she did give it to me when she could have hidden it until she got home tonight; or do I stand by my punishment and tell her there's no way she's going out tonight?

Hot fudge sundays are good, so if you have one you are being good because you are eating something good. :thumbsup2

I hope you are getting some advice from the thread you started on this subject.

If this were me. And I was genuinely worried about the lack of socializing I would let her go to the dance. But there would still be a punishment for the lying. And she needs to understand this. :goodvibes

Your logic is good. But that actually makes it bad, bad, bad. :rotfl: I hve been telling myself that since it is friday, I can't have a sunday today. That was starting to work until I read your response.

I have a problem with feeling bad about punishing my kids. I would probably make an exception for the dance since she is generally a good kid, but would have to make up for it later. ex, grounding, extra studying. I just feel bad for a kid to miss something big when they are usually good. Missing everyday stuff, yeah, but big stuff I have a hard time with. I would let her go with conditions. I know everyone wouldn't agree, but that is what I would personally do.

Thanks Smiley! I only got one response in the past 20 minutes and she basically said the same thing.

I know this is a fluffy, about nothing kind of thread, but since she's supposed to be leaving at 7:30, I really needed some thoughts ASAP.
