The Sing Off!

I was glad that Committed won. I liked both Committed and Street Corner Symphony so I was very happy with the final two. I think that the win will do more to help these guys advance their career as a group than some of the others. They seemed like nice guys and maybe a little less 'produced' than some of the others. And bless Jerry Lawson's heart but I don't think he looked strong enough to perform on a tour or record. I loved his group's sound but it looked like he was able to do very limited walking or standing. At least he had a cane last night. I was not a fan of the Backbeats. They seemed to be more into a few star performers and less into performing as a group. I wonder if the girl with the short hair who did the percussion for them will be back with even another group if the show has another season. Something just seems off about competing multiple times.

I want to download Street Corner's version of 'Creep' that was fantastic! I wanted them to win but I like Commited a lot too. Ben Folds was so pitchy it was terrible!

DH has been in a capella groups since college and I'm kinda of surprised that most of these groups have only one or two lead singers. His groups have always spread around the solos.

Definitely more fun to watch than American Idol!

I agree with your post. I definitely enjoyed this Sing Off better than last seasons American Idol. I hope this season of AI is better. It should at least be more interesting with the change in judges. Sing Off is more about the singing and less about all of the drama.

I also thought Ben Folds singing was not that good. He seems to know a lot about singing so I was surprised that he did not sound better. Maybe he made his name in music with something other than singing. Even though he is from Nashville, I don't know much about him. I just know that he has/is guest starring with the Nashville Symphony.
