I normally don't get guidebooks either, but with as complicated the game is going to be with wants/fears/aspirations I figured it would be a handy reference.

DH uses his Everquest ones constantly

I'm thinking about it...... With this game, it might be a big help. I didn't get one for TS1. I don't think I missed out on anything though. But this game is probably a different story.... Maybe I can talk Chris into it. We are going to Fry's tomorrow....

I don't usually get the Guide Books either. There seems to be alot more involved in this game than Sims 1. I read quite a bit of the book last night, the new objects look great. It also explains how to build a basement.

I think the Prima website has them for download as an E-book for 9.99.

Well Fry's was a waste....for my purposes anyway. I asked about the guide and they kept telling me that the game wasn't releasd yet. DUH! I wanted the guide.

Oh well. My local EB Games obliged me though. WOO HOO!

alright...i had my DH downloan the Sims 2 body shop thing for me to play with. but it won't work!!!!! we have the windows xp service pack 2 thing on there...is that causing it to crash the computer every time? HELP!!!!

What do you need to run this game exactly?? Like the video card. I am worried my laptop won't be able to run it. My friend was telling me you had to have some T/L video capabilities or card or something I have no idea what that is.
My son bought a game last year and couldn't run it on our 2ghz laptop that was built for gaming. It would run on a 400mhz if you had the right graphics card. :/

Does the game come out on Thursday?

The game comes out on Wednesday at one store here (ill be buying from them!) and thursday at all the others!

Cool I can play it.... My memory is the only thing it didn't like. Apparently 256 must be on the low end. I was looking at 512 (for a laptop) and it was like $300!

I don't have body shop installed, so I'm not sure. You might want to check with snootysims.com and see if anyone else had a tech issue with body shop.

I ordered from EA and of course it is not here yet. My local Gamestop will have it tomorrow mrning so I may go purchase it and return the EA copy when it finally gets here.

well, i picked up my copy of the sims 2...and it runs on my computer...but it run really slooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow...

hoping to remedy the situation. we'll either be buying a new computer or trying to upgrade the video card, assuming that can even be done!

i pre-ordered from amazon at the end of august.
chose free "super saver" shipping...said it would get here mid-october. (no biggie - leaving for WDW next friday)
it was shipped yesterday.
it's in Kentucky right now.
hope i get it BEFORE disney now...dont' want it sitting in my mailbox for a week! EEK!
