Thats way too much work, i just cut it pretty close to the words, it has a small white border but i like how it looks. Mine have "KatGarcia" on one side and "DISboards.com" on the other.

Hurricane Season

As you are all aware August is hurricane season in Florida and anybody who chooses to travel during this time is gambling with their luck. Living in Virginia Beach we have been through our fair share of hurricanes so we are not worried about surviving the actual storm should one hit while we are down there but we are concerned about one interfering with our flights on the way down or back home. As a result of this paranoia I have been a regular visitor to the National Hurricane Centre's website. Here is the outlook as of today:

That red circle is causing me much worry, according to an article that Janet linked me to it has a high chance of developing into a storm and hitting Miami on Monday. We of course fly down on Tuesday evening so hopefully it will not effect us but I can't help but worry.

I'm sure I will be checking that website every few hours for the next few days up until we leave.

The Vacation Planning Binder


When I first started to plan this trip and my upcoming cruise I decided to put together a planning binder. When we went on our 2007 trip our documents and planning notes were not organized at all, just random scribbles on pieces of paper all bunched together. This trip though I decided to be a bit more proactive and started this little planning binder which some of you have already seen.

I have everything in here: Flight confirmation, hotel reservation, rental car confirmation and coupon, park tickets, park hours, daily itinerary, the Fockerfest itinerary that KatGarcia kindly put together for us so we could stalk each other in the parks. I also have restaurant menus both table service and counter service, a print-out of our ADR's and I took out the park maps from my passporter and punched holes in them and inserted them into the binder.

I did that, too! Do you also take the Passporter maps with you to the parks? I find them much easier to read than the Disney ones. Everything is marked so clearly and for a relative newbie, that helps ALOT!

Nope, I don't need a park map, I have an excellent memory and head for directions, always have. The maps are for the benefit of the rest of the family.
