I seen a fb post where Disney rainbowed the castle. I don't have anything against this and have a lot of friends and family that is excited about this. However, although I'm gold, I might have to cancel my next cruise if I see dcl rainbowed. I don't want to have to explain to my kids why the colors that they know so well, have changed.

Are you saying that you really think it's a possibility that Disney will PAINT their ships rainbow colors? Lol. I think your children will be "safe" from that.

Or are you saying that you don't want them to see a picture of the DCL ship in rainbow colors? 'Cause then you may have a problem. Why don't you just explain to them that the rainbow colors signify an important USSC decision about marriage?

If kids are too young to understand this is how you explain it. "Look at the pretty colors"

People are not understanding my post. I know love is a beautiful thing. I just think some places of business should be off limits.

You're entitled to think what you want. Doesn't mean it's going to happen that way. If it's so important to you to keep your children sheltered from "the rainbow", it's up to you to figure out how to do it.

And you're no being misunderstood. You are coming in loud and clear!

Its really sad that if you don't agree with something or have your own views you are not respected and are condemned. To each their own, some are pro gay marriage some are not, both opinions need to be respected.

Not going to respect being prodiscrimination. I am not going to completely rip someone apart for his/her view on here because it's not the appropriate place to do it, but I will never respect prejudice.

This is such a contradictory statement. Some places of business should be off limits? It's civil rights! We see love stories happen everyday with Disney and now this is a chance for a fairytale ending for so many people.

Love is love.

Some families may not agree with this and don't want their children to be influenced. I just think the rainbow light on the castle was out of line.

If people don't want their children to be influenced, they have every right not to go to places that they feel influence them. Disney isn't forcing anyone to come there. Perhaps it will make the parks less crowded for those of us who don't feel some rainbow lights are a "bad influence." And quite frankly, most young kids have no idea what it is even about unless you tell them. There are projections on the castle all the time.

You're going to have to talk to your children and explain to them that two people who love each other can now marry although it doesn't fall in line with your views. My wife and I had that conversation last night.

I agree with you, but this does not seem to be the way it works anymore. If you're against something like this your going to be condemned. Respect doesn't seem to go both ways. I do think business should be allowed to do what they want on both sides. It really has no affect on how I raise my kids.

The think I see as silly with the OP post is the fact that they are considering cancelling the Cruise altogether. Cancelling the cruise because they photoshop a rainbow image onto a picture of the Disney ship? It isn't like you are going to arrive for your cruise and the ship will be rainbow colored or they will be handing out literature on the subject to everyone or hold a mandatory seminar on the subject. Tell your kids what you want about the picture but you should not deny them the enjoyment of going on a Disney Cruise because of what you believe about this subject.

Why should DCL be off limits? Disney is a private company that can show support as it wishes. I am glad they are because there are many families, as well as Crew/CM's that are part of the LGTB community that may feel more welcomed. I'm not surprised that Disney is showing it's support - they have offered LGTB CM's marriage/domestic partnership benefits for many years now.

Others have posted some great ideas on how to deal with situations like this.
