Does anyone watch this show? They are having a marathon on Abc Family I like what I have seen so far

I love it, I am looking forward to the new season starting Monday.

I do watch it but I hoope it goes a little deeper this season. The twon things that bother me about this show are:

1) The characters are very two dimensional. The good ones are good, the bad are bad, the "promiscuous" have no qualms, etc.... The only exceptions seem to be the pregnant girl (yipes, can't even think of her name) and molly Ringwald's character.

2) The dialogue needs some work. It's very predictable but I guess that comes with my #1 above. Along the same line, I think there is probably a limit to the number times you can the word "sex", in prime time, and they use every last opportunity to do it. I'm not offended, I just think it sounds silly after a while! LOL!

My whining aside, I'll still watch. I have an indescibable need to see what comes of this fictional baby.:upsidedow

I started watching it when it was on last year, but it didn't keep my interest. I do like that Molly Ringwald was in it though.

OMG, I can't believe I watched this marathon show from 2pm until 11pm. Now, I'm hooked. I've already got the DVR set to record tomorrow night.

We watch it and love it. We even had the House Party for it with the sneak preview of the new season. The House Party was great because we got free Secret Life bags, posters and journals to hand out to DD's friends. :cool1:

I have a few of the bags and journals left over if anyone wants one - just PM me.

We can't wait for the Season Premiere tomorrow nite so we can watch the rest of the episode!

I WAS a pregnant Teen myself.. and I love this show.. :thumbsup2

I have it written on my calendar for the new season tomorrow and I can not wait!! DH thinks I'm nutso.. Too much of a Chick Drama, so he says.. psh..

I was 16 when I got pregnant and DS now (18) was born a few months after I turned 17.. I went through some similar things and Yes, it was hard but I would not trade my son in for the world :lovestruc

I hope she keeps the baby.. I would assume it will either drag out to keep the show going or she will keep it.. Since if she does give the baby up, there wouldn't be a show.. Would there?? :confused3

I've only seen this a few times but I like it!! You have some bags and journals?? I think I'm interested....:goodvibes :thumbsup2

I can't wait for the new season to start. I got very interested in it during the first season and was like, "Gosh I hope this doesn't get axed in favor of something lame, like another Kyle XY type of show or something."

I'm hooked as well. I really like Molly Ringwald. My one issue is that it is now on the same time as House. So I'll have to choose which one to watch online the next day.

My DH and I really like this show. While it can be a cornfest, it has really led to open discussions on how we were in HS and what types of parents we will be when our kids are that age.

AH! How do I pick between that and Gossip Girl!?

..nvm, I'm good. It's on again at 9pm!

I've been watching tis show since it debuted last summer and while the acting is not the best, it's still a good show. I just finished watching tonights episdoe and WOW! Spoiler below...

Amy and Ben did get married! I wasn't sure if he would go through with it but he did! Did anyone else see the daggers in Grace's eyes when Ricky had her scoot over for Adrien to sit down. And her comment to Adrien to put on a jacket

Then there was the comment that Ashley made to Amy in a demonlike voice about her mom not watching the baby. :rotfl: What didyou think about Alice and Grace's old bf? I can see them working out for a bit. And it's cute that Henry likes Ashely, although she's a bit young for him.

Tom and his date are interesting. She's a bit rude though. But I'm assuming that it's due to them wanting to do the things that other teens are doing. It is nice to see that the writers are giving him a "normal" teenage life.

My daughters and I saw previews for the season opener all through the holidays, and I thought, well, ok, this might be a good show to watch together and have some good conversation about.

I left it on for about 8-10 minutes before changing the channel, horrified. I simply could NOT BELIEVE that this filthy garbage was considered fit viewing for teens on prime time.

We'd have had some conversations, all right. Wow.

It becomes readily apparent to me all over again why I almost never watch tv.

I said (outloud, too since nobody was home) "Could that dress BE any shorter?":scared1:

storybookmom--just out of sheer curiousity, what exactly did you find offensive about it?:confused3

I was pretty freaked by the guy who got one girl pregnant, was sleeping with another girl, with her half-dressed flaunting herself like that, and then heard that the same guy had just made out with the first girl's friend - not to mention the shameless hostility and disrespect of the second girl towards her father, and the crass discussion back and forth between the 2nd girl and that boy.

Then I was pretty startled to hear the discussion in front of the lockers and have that guy say something about the pregnant girl going to "sl*t school." I didn't even realize they could SAY that on prime time.

It was just all so offensively in-your-face and immoral - and completely indifferent about it all. I was speechless, and so distressed.

You do realize they are doing this on purpose?? That this is currently going on in lots of High Schools and Junior High Schools across America right now?? That's the point of the show...look at this and TALK TO YOUR KIDS!! No matter how close you are with your kids you will be suprised how many of them are sleeping around.

Hopefully kids and parents will watch this together and start real dialogues and realize what happens the first time. If it helps one kid..it's good.
