Tuesday 18th July

As Kevin Stringer would say, this was the first real day of our holiday ( if this means nothing to you then go and read his reports as they are the best :thumbsup2 , on second thoughts don’t as you won’t bother to come back and read mine) ;) because we are going to a proper Disney park, not 1 but 2.

We were using up last years 7 day hopper ticket and if we didn’t share a day we would have had to miss out a park completely which would have coursed major ructions as we all have differing opinions as to what attractions were a not to be missed.

Anyway we got to Animal Kingdom for 9 o’clock and it was heaving, the queue to get to the gates was at least 50 deep all the way across and this was supposed to be a light day?

We got through and headed straight for the new ride Expedition Everest. We grabbed some fast passes and jumped in the queue which was posted at 10 minutes, which was about right.

Maddie and Theresa went on the Kali River Rapids and got absolutely soaked! We have never got that wet on it before and it literally took them the rest of the day to dry out.

I went on a photo shoot of the gorillas (I won’t bore you with the pictures as they are not very good, more practise needed) whilst the rest of the family went on It’s tough to be a bug. We met up and I managed to get a few shots of them on Primeval Whirl before lunch at Pizzafari for a change.

We used the EE fast passes and then did Dinosaur which had a 30 minute wait before leaving the park at 1.30. It was really busy with long line for everything. There were groups of teenagers from summer camps everywhere which really put the line times up.
I would like to make a point by saying that they were all VERY well behaved and a credit to their various countries as there were parties from several of the South American countries as well as the expected US contingency.
Each group had someone at the front and someone at the back waving a flag to keep the group together, this shouldn’t have been to difficult as they were all wearing exactly the same tops looking like leftover supporters from the world cup. :rotfl2:

We drove to MGM Studios and parked in Music 52 .

MGM was also very busy with different club supporters.
There are defiantly more people in the parks in July than August and it felt to me like it was hotter as well.

We did Muppets, Millionaire (as we know it is due to close and wanted to get one last chance at winning the cruise ( FAT chance)) then the Great Movie ride. We didn’t bother with TOT or RnR as the queues were massive and we have been there done that, so we had a break at the Backlot Express and then went to L M A which was really good, even better than I was expecting, and Disney has made me come to expect great things.

We ate at the golden Corral which is getting more expensive at $10.99 a head but it’s still one of the better quality all you can eats.

We went back to the Sheraton and watch some TV then bed. There was a major thunder storm at about 10.30 with loads of thunder and lightning.

Final score Disney Parks 2 Scrapbook shopping 0 :rotfl:

Enjoying your reports and pictures.

Interesting to hear you enjoyed LMA - we hope to do this in October.

A proper Disney day, brilliant, sounds like you had a great time. Great pictures again.

Lovely report Tony, we were there at the same time. I remember that thunderstorm, forked lightening. We were staying in the Rosen Hotel on IDrive on the 21st floor so had quite a view of it.

We didn't find the lines too bad at all at Animal Kingdom, everyone seemed to be heading for Mount Everest. We just fast passed it. It is a good ride though.

I got extremely wet on Kali too, it depends who gets their back to the drop. If you are smack in the middle you get drenched. We all had high wicking clothes on so drying out was not a problem.

Aw shucks. Thanks very much Tony. I've suddenly come over all bashful. And not a little Dopey!

I'm enjoying reading your reports. Hopefully we'll get together at a meet in the near future and you can tell us more about your trip.
Sounds like Tracy had a great time. :rotfl2:

You don't need to tell me about kali soakings, soaked top to toe down to my underwear :lmao: Another great day,

A great day Tony, did you enjoy the Expedition Everest ride ? We tried it for the first time too, and we loved it, it's a great addition to Animal Kingdom :)
