VENT: Does this discussion board make anyone else's web browser crash regularly? It is not uncommon for me to be typing in here, and my browser freezes up - all windows - and I have to restart it. For the second week in a row, it has done this as I'm typing up my long training blog entry.... and of course if I restart the browser, I lose everything I've been typing. SO FRUSTRATING!

It's probably just the specific lucky combination of my laptop + web browser + whatever else...but geez,

This is the website it happens most often with, and honestly, it's not where I spend most of my time in my web browser, so it seems like there's something "special" about it.

The ads are getting to be an issue for me. I exclusively use my iPad or iPhone and the stupid ads take up half the screen. I can use Safari's "Hide Distracting Items" tool to make them disappear until I refresh the page, but that's it.

@avondale Yes. This website runs so slow on my laptop and it crashes often on my phone. It’s super annoying.

A few years ago (??), it used to do that to me and also all the pop up ads, so I started using a different app web browser specifically for this website that blocks all the ads and it works much better!
I’m sure there are others out there, but I use Ghostery.

I have to close this browser window when I'm not using it to prevent problems. For me, this site is a drain on system resources. Checking right now, it's taking almost 2 GB of RAM, more than any other tab I have open.

YES! I have tried to update my blog like 4 times and this keeps happening! So frustrating!

I have to close this browser window when I'm not using it to prevent problems. For me, this site is a drain on system resources. Checking right now, it's taking almost 2 GB of RAM, more than any other tab I have open.

It’s the ads. I installed ad blockers on my devices several years ago for this reason. Once in a while I’ll have typed in a post to a thread but hitting “Post” does nothing - I just reload the page and it’s fine. But no more freezing, no constant pop up ads.

This site was practically unusable until I installed the ad blockers. I almost gave up on it but I'm so glad I stuck around.

I have the most problems with safari, but it's *generally* usable in chrome.

In safari (on my phone) it get the "an unexpected error has occurred" regularly.

Definitely the ads. I run ad blockers in Safari on my Mac and iPhone/iPad and I have no issues. After I upgraded to Tahoe my ad blocker somehow turned off and the only reason I noticed is this site was practically unusable.

Yup, I have an ad blocker on my laptop and it works fine, but on the rare occasion where I try to access the boards on my phone which doesn't have an ad blocker (like for a meetup or something), it's a miserable experience. Install an ad-blocker and your problems will be solved!
