It is indeeed. They use the book pages to prove runners went to all the checkpoints on the course. I think it was posted earlier, but if you're interested, there's a great doucmentary called The Barkleys Marathons: The Race That Eats its Young that you can find. Yes it is. There was a guy at Disney this year running the marathon with a fabulous Barkley costume.
