Keep in mind that most pacers are volunteers. Some are really good at it and others are still figuring it out. I've heard many stories where pace groups go out too fast or too slow which can be a real challenge for someone trying to run their best race.Thank you. Perhaps I'll send the race coordinator an email asking about the pace group plan. I know that there is a 2:00 pace group that is continuous running (they specify a 2:45 Galloway group), but I don't know if the plan is for even splits or negative splits. I was assuming that the plan would be even splits but you certainly never know.
I wouldn't let that dissuade you from trying the pace group. Just keep an eye on your pace to see if it is a manageable pace for the entire race.
