The Running Thread - 2016

Yeah we are already getting some overnight temps in the low 30's here. I'm not ready to put away my Sparkle Skirts and switch to tights, but it's that awkward time of the year where it's chilly for skirts and short sleeves but too warm for pants and long sleeves. It should be about 42-44 at the start of my race on Sunday, so I'm going to go with skirt/short sleeves. I am a little worried though because it's a point-to-point course and I have to get bussed up to the start since I'm going alone, my SO and pupper are staying home. The last bus for the race leaves at 8:30 for a 9:30 start, which means potentially a lot of waiting up there.

Too trusting... I make the plans in excel, but I only send people a PDF version. :D (It's because Disboards doesn't accept a .xlsx file, (At least that's what I tell people...))

LOL, this is what popped in my head...

I was thinking the same thing, but my pc at work is acting crazy with this site today. idk whats going on. But it is a pia.

QOTD: Going for my first long run in a while tomorrow. I'm capping it at 12 miles (EASY pace), but also will quit at any moment I don't feel fantastic. I have a half in a couple weeks, so I feel a little bit like I'm in no man's land with my training. After tomorrow's LR, I'll figure out what I'll do in the next couple weeks leading up to that race.

Just on my regular long run route... or at least a road that is regularly part of most of my long run routes, near the downtown area of my city. :) I live in the Seacoast area of NH.

I knew it was east coast! Such beautiful colors!

Hello All, just found this lovely thread! Ran my second half last weekend and felt great! Looking to sign up for another in November. Happy Running y'all !

Good for you! So glad you are here, this is an awesome thread for support and information! And everyone is very friendly and helpful (and drama free!).

I'm sure I won't have a problem finding a beer at mile 22 here in Beer City USA. The bling got me excited this morning![GALLERY=][/GALLERY]

That medal looks so cool! Thanks for posting! I am even more excited now.

ATTQOTD: Resting today and tomorrow. Sunday I am heading west to Grand Rapids for what I hope is a good race day in the Grand Rapids Marathon. Should be a good weekend! Everyone enjoy your runs!

ATTQOTD: I've got an easy 7 tomorrow. But, I'll be joining my brother-in-law for a mile or two for something he's doing tomorrow. Get this: The Endless Mile. He'll be running 24 hours himself raising money for Kulture City (an up and coming charity for autism awareness and resources). So I'll be heading out once to join him briefly, but also tomorrow night to make sure he's fueling properly and that kind of thing. (He's an accomplished runner. BQ, ultra-runner, etc... but he's a total freak. He does everything wrong. Doesn't taper. Doesn't know how to pace or negative split. No clue about fueling, so I have to keep an eye on him.:) But he's not even the biggest nut out there. There are 18 who have signed up to do 48 hours on their own.

I know a bunch of you guys live in the Raleigh area. My DD26 just moved to Cary and is trying to get back into her WDW marathon training. Any suggestions for areas close to her that are safe for long runs? Or running groups?
