The Room Ready / Not Ready Thread

Hello everyone:

There is has been a discussion lately on DIS about whether rooms were ready on-time or even early lately.

Over the past year or two, it has been very common for people to say that they did not get into their rooms until after 4pm, and at times as late as 6pm.

I for one was pleasantly surprised to get into my room at 11am on Sunday September 25th. I wonder if this may be the first positive change in the era of Ms. Bilby.

I'll start:

Request not immediately met
New room ready at 11:30AM
No Room Problems

I'll keep a running track of these on the front page.

((I complained about my room location because I didn't need to be a long way from the elevator due to a foot problem.))

Great idea!

When I checked into BCV on September 28 at 2:15, my room was ready and met all my requests. No on-line check in used.

However, when I checked in to AKV-Jambo, value studio, on September 22 at 6:30 pm, my room was ready but it was as far as possible from the general area I'd requested and as far from the elevators as possible. I suspect some "squeaky wheel" got my requested room earlier.

In October 2010, I noted that when DH and I checked into BCV at 3:30, our room wasn't ready. However, when we came back an hour later and our room still wasn't ready, the CM immediately got on the phone and found us a room that met some requests, because she said we'd "waited past 4:00."

All the villas have been clean and well maintained, In 30+ trips, I've only had 3 times the villa was not ready on arrival, (2) the Boardwalk and (1) Jambo.

No room issues worth mentioning, other than some missing items in the kitchen.

I could go back at least several (really many many) years with visited resorts...but I'll net it to say that only once --- BCV (2007)-- did we have to wait for our one bedroom villa. Never had to wait anywhere else -- BWV, SSR, OKW, etc. Our arrival is always at 1:30 p.m.

Has anyone had to wait until after 4pm lately?

This thread is making me wonder if the after 4pm problem was as bad as we thought.

I know I've waited until after 4pm because I had family with me, and wanted to make a good impression. Murphy's Law. I also cut it close on an ADR on another trip because of the room ready issue.

I'll get these organized in a day or two. For now, I think its ok to just read through the thread.

I'm just happy that there have been so many positive reports lately!!

PS - LSCHROW -- I guess someone's telephone # and yes, it freaked them out. We just have good math intuition!

This thread is making me wonder if the after 4pm problem was as bad as we thought. !

I started a similar thread several months ago and came to the same conclusion, very few people had check ins past 4pm. I found the results odd because of the many complaints I had read on the DIS. As I said previously I've only had one instance past 4pm in 10 years. Your results echoed mine exactly!
