As for "What The Party" was.... If I remember correctly, After the first year of the Disney Channel 89/90 era Mickey Mouse Club, most of the members ended up spinning off into a band which was named "the Party. I think I even remember the name was chosen via a "name the band" type contest on the disney Channel and the MMC.

It was after their departure from the regular cast of the Mickey Mouse Club that the cast expanded with the bunch of newcomers that brought us the likes of Brittney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Christina Agulara.

You forgot Ryan Gosling.

I remember the Party, too, though I don't think they had any real hits and were forgotten about pretty quickly. I haven't heard any word of them getting back together and I regularly read online magazines like People, US, and EW. Haven't checked OK Magazine, though.

heh... I honestly didn't watch a whole lot of the MMC after the original crew left the show. I do remember going to a taping at MGM though once.
