Hi Tammie - I looked up the weather in Southern Oregon (Ashland?) - and it didn't look too spring like. :sad1: Here in Albany we got a tease of summer weather - low 80s and then it suddenly dipped into the 50s. This week will be 60ish and sunny though! Hope spring makes its way to you soon! :flower3:

Thanks! We are actually over the mountain about an hr from Ashland, Klamath Falls. It is 10 deg cooler here than there - we had snow last week. Our baseball weather is always much colder than our football season - we usually have Indian Summer.

Awesome pix !!! I too was very excited when I learned how to post pix and even more so when I could multi post them !!! Now I just need to learn how to upload them without Phil doing it !!!:rotfl2:

Multi posting is a mystery to me!:lmao: I like your pics too Rosie, because yours are large too!

As promised Poolrat....

Isn't this cool?!? I was so surprised to see them get these! I'm kinda hoping he leaves it at home so I can look at it while he's away to school next year. :sad1:

Here's another picture for you to see what some others look like. These are my boy's bestfriends. They've all swam on the summer team together from the time they were in 8th grade, and four years on the high school team together. My boy is in the middle, yes I realize he has goofy hair.
I look at it this way... he's been a outstanding student, held a job since he was 16, get's up at the crack of dawn for swim team, never get's into trouble, never smoked, never done drugs, hasn't drank what I didn't hand him a taste of every once in a blue moon and didn't start dating until 17. If the hair is his only rebellious outlet, then that's pretty darn good in my opinion. Some times you have to pick your battles, this just wasn't a hill I was willing to climb or die on. :)

I totally agree !! My boss Carol also has a wonderful son who gets into no trouble and is an excellent student ,BUT he also has the FREAKY hair and she says the same thing !!

Multi posting is a mystery to me!:lmao: I like your pics too Rosie, because yours are large too!

If you open up 2 windows so you would have the Boards open and then open another and go to photobucket( if that's where your pix are) you can click back and forth on the 2 windows !! That's how I do it !!Give it a try !! If I can it must be simple !!!:lmao:

SO COOL - Ty is the hansome boy isn't he? Don't sweat the hair. Swimmers can alway so amazing things with their " chlorine hair" and a faux hawk is just one of them. It's not like he dyed it red and shaved off the sides now? Not my child but a friend back in high school. Mine just like to grow it shaggy in the winter to keep his head warm and cuts it short in the spring because it gets in his way. I laugh when we take him for a hair cut, since he was in middle school when the lady would say " Mom, how would you like this?" I always let him tell her, and let her know it HIS hair. I always felt it was important for them (both my kids ) to be independant and have control of some things, like their hair. This way I could guide the bigger things without much argument.

I would make sure that poster stays home while he is away. For your sake more than his.

I looked at his friends and figured thery are a breaststroker and butterflyer type by build and then looked down to see I was right on.
Once a swimmer, always a swimmer.
Ty do mostly sprint freestyle event? 50, 100, 200? I see they all probably do IM as well.

Thanks Wendy for the explaination. I don't have kids so I guess I didn't understand about kids credits. We've also never gotten room service so wasn't sure how that worked.
I wish I had been in some of your households growing up. My grandma (I lived with my grandparents) freaked out one time over my hair! I was 15 and all I did was slick it back with mousse so it laid flat on my head. Usually I left it dry naturally and I had a perm so it would be curly. It did make me look a lot older though. Anyway, she made me go fix it right away. The part I still find funny though is after I had fixed it she asked me "Isn't that better?" To which I promptly replied "NO!"

I'm pretty laid back when it comes to hair. The way I look at it is that if you cut it or dye it, it will grow back! I guess with all the times AJs head has been shaved by surgeons I have become very laid back with hair! Each time he goes in we try to do something fun with it before he goes in. Usually its a mowhawk. He likes to be a rocker for about a week before surgeries!

 Thank you Tammie, I think I've done a pretty good job and then realize there's no way I could have done that great of a job without some serious help from the good Lord above and His crew. I'm of the opinion that each child is born with at least five angels assigned to them, other wise they would end up seriously injury beyond repair and or dead with the stunts they pull on us in the first five years born. :rotfl:

Your right, his hair tain't not big deal compaired to what heart ache he could be throwing my way.

I don't even want to think about what everyone could do in the bathroom with a Qwerty board. Although...I can't say I haven't had my moments in the powder room typing on one. :rolleyes1 I don't poof, never have. :snooty: But I QWERTY!!

My parents were the same way with us kids...pick your battles. Which is why, throughout high school, my sister had pink hair. Now, at 27, her hair is blue...has been for the last few years. It's who she is and she likes it. My dad's parents hated that my parents let my sister dye her hair pink. They thought it was horrible! Oh well. Pick your battles. :D

Also, those pictures of the boys swimming are fantastic! What a great keepsake!

If you open up 2 windows so you would have the Boards open and then open another and go to photobucket( if that's where your pix are) you can click back and forth on the 2 windows !! That's how I do it !!Give it a try !! If I can it must be simple !!!:lmao:

If you use Internet Explorer to surf the net you can just open tabs...which makes it even easier! :thumbsup2

Jordan, hope your weekend is going well...and has been uneventful. Looking forward to another update...and hoping you can squeeze one more in before this thread hits 250 pages. ;)

Hi Jordan - I am only onChapter 5 - just "met" you today and already feel like you are an old friend! Is your birthday in June? From what I can gather in only a few installments, yes - I ask cuz mine is too and 2012 is a biggie for me as well! Loving the TR - thanks!

i'm joining in this TR as a february WDW vet! We were there for a lot of the same dates this year!

I'm already planning a definite trip for Feb. 2012 and a tentative trip for June 2012, so peepfest may be in the stars for me!

WellI got time and access to the internet at work so am catching up a bit !!! Kinda like you Jordan doing it on the Sly:lmao:

Jordan's 50th birthday is actually on 2/24/2012 (we share the same birthday but don't share the same birth year), thus his potential "bonus" trip in February. The official peepfest is planned for June to avoid conflict with school schedules (mainly for our family as his cousins). Hope that helps.

Weather report: Just thought I'd invite all of you to my pity party. It is currently snowing and blowing like crazy outside. It was only supposed to rain, so Jim put out grass seed this afternoon - $60 worth. Nice. I spent the afternoon "traveling" to St. John on the internet! Thanks for listening!:cold:

Have you shared that before and I just missed it?!? Jordan went to college there and I grew up there! DH and I rented a condo that backed up to the orange groves over by Irvine Valley College and the air was so sweet you could taste it! (Unlike the typical So Cal air qulaity!) :rotfl:

I've mentioned before that I lived in Southern Cali., but there's so much that goes on, on here that I wouldn't worry about you missing it. I miss stuff on here all the time.
I use to live right across the street from Irvine Valley Community College, I miss the smell of orange groves and eucalyptus trees. :cloud9:
I agree completely as well. About 4 years ago, my son Alek was expressing himself through hair styles as well.
Sounds like a lot of us have been through some crazy stuff with hair, this hair style he has I actually like, but one of the other one's he's had I wasn't very happy about. Eh, what do you do. He's a good kid. But if my DH would do something to his besides do a military cut I would probably be laughing too!

Thanks! Be sure and say hi over there sometime.

And you should be very proud of your son. Great job Mom! :goodvibes

I will! And thank you! I feel I've done a pretty good job along with a pretty incredible husband. And, I am proud of my boy, he's had to make all these decisions for himself, and I think he's done a really great job. :goodvibes

Great photo of your son - he's a very handsome young man. My son started growing his hair at the end of 5th grade and kept it long until the beginning of 11th grade, when he finally decided to go back to short hair. He saw a picture of himself with the long hair recently and said "what was I thinking!" I agree with you - you can't sweat the small stuff!

Awesome - so hard not to say anything but makes such an impact!!

Thank you. You have a pretty handsome son too. :thumbsup2

Multi posting is a mystery to me!:lmao: I like your pics too Rosie, because yours are large too!

Kathy, when you have the picture up on photobucket, there's an edit icon, press that and then when it comes up on the new page, hit the resize button, usually the large will make it the right size, but you can hit the medium and see what that does for you too. As for multi-quoting, there's a + button, hit this every time you want to take a quote from a post, if there's five posts, hit the button on each post you want to quote, then at the bottom of the page there's the Post Reply button, hit that and then the next page that comes up will have all the quotes on it. As long as you keep the [Ouote=the Dis name of the person]..... and it ends with
then you can erase anything in between and still keep it as a quote (sometimes you just want a part of someones post). Hope that made sense. If not, PM me and I'll walk you through it. :goodvibes

You guessed it! 100 Free is his main stroke, he use to do back, but most loves free and also does fly. They call him crazy arms, he's known to go to town in an IM to catch up if needed.

Awww. Poor orangecat. The last part is pretty funny. :rotfl:

Your a cool mom. :thumbsup2 I like that your helping him make the best of the situation, sorry for your boys surgery's.

To each his own, ya know? :thumbsup2 If I had the guts I would put fuschia pink in my hair, that's my color.

Also, those pictures of the boys swimming are fantastic! What a great keepsake!

They are aren't they?!? I love this keepsake.

Jordan, hope your weekend is going well...and has been uneventful. Looking forward to another update...and hoping you can squeeze one more in before this thread hits 250 pages.

Jordy? :confused3 Oh yea! This is Jordy's thread isn't it?!? :rotfl: I really hope you did have a great weekend. Sorry, I totally hi-jacked.

Awww. Poor Tammie. I'll send good weather your way. I didn't realize y'all got snow there this time of the year. Or is snow normal there at all? :confused3

I'm here Millie!! Just trying to recover from the SHOCK of BOTH my MNSSHP parties being NOT scheduled, dropped, ditched, chucked from the 35th story of the Empire, whatever. I've had to spend the whole morning trying to tweak my schedule.

BOO!!

Anyway. I think I may have missed far too much fun stuff here, and will have to back up MANY pages to catch up.

Derek and Camille - thanks for the explanations and the welcomes - what a fun bunch y'all are! And Derek - what beautiful kiddos you have!
