OK, flying low back from Rochester I actually arrived home only 8 minutes into the debate so I flew into the house, wrestled the remote from DP (who was watching something about turtles, go figure), and switched to MSNBC where, sure enough, the party was on !party:

I was totally ready to just sink into the sofa and enjoy the festivities, but DP - god bless her - wanted to TALK :scared1:

Given that I'd been out of town for two days I guess that made some sense so I confess I only half listened to the debates (yikes, I guess that means I only half-listened to DP too), but I did catch part of the rerun at 11 PM and some commentary this morning.

I want to hear what you all think, but here are some of my observations;

1. I don't mean to sound PC here (really!), but it was horrifying to see 10 white men of a certain age all lined up. Really, really sad.

2. I HATE to admit it but overall I think Mitt increased his stock,

3. McCain came out even,

4. Giuliani looked less than presidential, and

5. Who cares about the rest, except that Ron Paul, the Libertarian (like Kucinich and Gravel before him) provided some nice comedic relief.

Oh, and btw, I forgot to mention this in the Dems post, but did anyone catch the BABE that Kucinich is married to???:love::love:

I vote with your partner, Viki -- I missed it entirely but if the TV had been on, I probably would have switched stations to watch the turtles.:thumbsup2

I didn't catch either debate, but in my usual news surfing I couldn't help notice a shot that they kept playing of John McCain and his wife. He just had a sweater on and she was dressed like she was going to the prom. I just struck me as a weird photo op. :confused3

Viki - you were in Rochester and you didn't tell me?!?! I could have gone to our office that day and met you! I would have even done a dirty with you.

I have been very busy and very stressed at work lately (personnel problems ... management sucks!) so I didn't get to see either debate. But I did hear that Mitt "I like gays/I hate gays" raised his stock. Right now I'm just totally frustrated that no candidate from either party wants to support us. Yes, I know it would be a death march with the religious fanatics but I can always hope.

Viki I didn't see the debate and I'm glad you made it home safely.

Mitt looks the way his team thinks you would like him the best. As someone who voted for him in the past for his campaign promises not only did he break those he says ohh I didn't mean it . He changes his tune of all subjects faster then a 1 year old needs new diapers.

Have a great weekend everyone!

On a side note I was watching Nacy Grace last night, and her story du jour was Paris Hilton. Nancy was all over this story like white on rice. Paris Hilton this, Paris Hilton that......Well during the commercial break the ad went something like this.......

"Tonight Nancy Grace is brought to you by Double Tree Resorts, part of the Hilton chain of resorts" :rotfl2:

Hmmmm, would it be ok to say it was horrifying to see 10 blacks, 10 Jews, etc? Be careful out there or I might have to report you to the moderator (just trying to earn my wings :) )

I think you're right about Romney though. As a rich (to some), white, male, Republican who wants to like McCain but simply can't, I'm starting to really like Romney. I think he matches up very well against Clinton and O'Bama too. Women will love to vote for Romney. He'll remind them of the guy they always wanted to marry. Can't see men voting for Hillary, thinking she's the woman they always wanted to marry!:rotfl2:

Yes, it absolutely would - don't make assumptions; if you hang around long enough or go back and do your homework, reading past threads, you'll find I, at least, am anything but PC.

For example, I think Rosie is a loon and that MSNBC and CBS were cowardly and hypocritical to fire Imus.

Sue, I'm sooooo sorry. You live in Rochester? I should know that, say? I'm soooo sorry. My only excuse, aside from ignorance of your geography, is that I literally "flew" in on Wed afternoon, took a very early dinner (at Moyo Grill on Monroe street? Very nice blackened salmon) and then taught all day Thursday, until 3:30 pm, jumped in my car and raced the devil back to Philadelphia.

But, hey, next time. Or, in November I'll be in Syracuse for four nights - but that would be a drive, say?

In any event, one of these times, you bet. And if you ever get to Philadelphia ...!

Nope, I live in Buffalo but we have an office in Rochester. If I had known you were going to be there I would have planned on being in Rochester that day. Syracuse is a bit far to meet for a dirty martini!

Oh I can attest that Syracuse is not too far to meet Viki for a "Dirty one" :rotfl2:

But as far as Romney is concerned, I really think the Mormon thing will hold him back. I've had several conversations with staunch Republicans who didn't know he was a Mormon, and once they found out about that they hedged. It is discrimination, but I think it's gonna hold him back.
