Day 4

Had a long lie this morning and didn’t get up until 8am. Once up and organised we went over to the food court for breakfast. We were getting picked up at 9.25am by Mears to go to Belz Factory Outlets. At 9.20am a Mears coach pulled up, we were surprised as it’s always been a van when we have went shopping. Our driver was Charles Rowan and he was really nice. We had sat at the front of the bus so he chatted with us for the whole journey. We picked up at All Star Movies and then Coronado Springs before heading off for the shops. During our conversation with Charles he asked me if I play basketball because I look tall and sporty. Tricia almost fell off her chair when he asked this. I explained to him that I enjoy watching sport but I don’t play any sport (too much like hard work). He seemed genuinely surprised. We also chatted about the differences in UK and USA education. He kept saying we were really sweet. He also said our accent wasn’t strong, that was nice to know because no-one understood a word I said.

Shopping was fun and I managed to buy loads but Belz has gone downhill in my opinion, it doesn’t have the same amount of stores it used too. Had lunch in the food court.Got picked up in a van at 2pm and after two drop offs we were back at Port Orleans by 2.45pm. We stayed in the room until almost 4pm and then headed over to the food court to get drinks before getting the bus to Epcot.

When we came out of the food court I suggested it might be fun to get a Surrey Bike. At this point Tricia thought it was a good idea so we walked over to the bike and boat rental place and enquired about cost etc. Decided half an hours rental would be enough, it was very hot. CM showed us the cycle path and we were on our way. To start with Tricia was steering but once we were at the Alligator Bayou section she asked if I wanted to steer. I said yes, I didn’t like not being in control. Well the fun really began now!!! I have a tendency to look around me and not in the direction I’m going and kept pointing things of interest out to Tricia who replied every time by screaming just look where you are going. When we got over to the Mansions section we came across a van parked on the path. There didn’t seem to be a driver around and it was blocking my route. Tricia suggested I go across the grass. So I did!!! I steered the bike onto the grass and then carefully squeezed the Surrey bike between the van and a lamp post!!! I turned to Tricia who looked panic stricken, apparently she meant go round the outside of the lamp post. I told her to chill out we had made it and the van was fine, I didn’t hit it. We carried on our journey, me continuing to look everywhere but in front of me and then we gathered speed to get up the hill to the bridge. Once at the top of the hill we stopped for a rest and admired the view. Breath back we went down the hill at the other side, I rang the Surrey bike bell continuously incase any pedestrians were coming in the opposite direction. There I was pedalling away whilst cycling down the left hand side of the path minding my own business and admiring the scenery when the luggage man in his little van full of luggage comes flying round the bend heading straight for me!!!
OMG, his face was a picture, will live with me forever. How he missed us I do not know, I swerved into the bushes and he swerved onto the grass heading for the river. Luckily he missed the river, had it been the other way round I would have been in it. I have never laughed so hard in my whole life. Once I had stopped laughing and was able to pedal again we carried on. I was pleased to discover we still had time for another circuit. Parked outside the food court so Tricia could re-fill the mugs. She was gone a long time, I wonder what else she drank before she came out. Whatever it was wasn’t strong enough I crashed us into a fence and had to physically lift the bike back on track. When we got back round to the area where the van was parked the driver was there and moved the van onto the grass so we could get past. When we were going down the hill a luggage lady in a little van was coming towards us, she pulled into the side (I was still on the left) and jokingly shouted we don’t want to crash. I wondered if there had been a call put out on the radio about a crazy person on the loose in a Surrey bike. Arrived back at the bike rental place and abandoned the Surrey, I would only have caused devastation if I had tried to park it. I declared what fun it had been and suggested we do it again another day, Tricia went chalk white.

Got on bus to Epcot. Rode Spaceship Earth when we arrived. Then we went to Living Seas and saw all the little clown fish, I wanted one. It was so cool seeing all the little fish from Finding Nemo. Went to The Land next, the land ride had a 40 minute wait so we just had some dinner. Walked over to World Showcase and round to China just in time to see the Chinese Acrobats, The Dragon Legends. What can I say, sweaty hands and feet in overdrive here. Those children were amazing, I was gobsmacked. If you haven’t seen them perform make time and see them. They are brilliant!!! Headed round to America to see The American Vibe, it started to rain on the way and rained heavily throughout the show but we didn’t mind as we were under cover. The American Vibe were okay, wouldn’t rush back to see them again but they did go down really well with the crowd. Illuminations was delayed for 10 minutes due to a technical difficulty. We watched from Italy and once again it was fantastic, you could never tire of it. Walked very slowly to park exit and then had to wait 25 minutes for a bus. I think the whole of Port Orleans was at Epcot with us. The buses came continuously, we got on the 4th or 5th bus.

Once back at Port Orleans we had some pizza and bought tickets for tomorrow night’s e-night. Watched some of Bob the piano man and then walked over to the room. Set wake up call, had bath, watched TV and fell asleep.

According to schedule tomorrow we go to Animal Kingdom for early entry, Blizzard Beach, Afternoon tea at Grand Floridian and then Magic Kingdom e-night. (I am so glad this is my relaxing tour).
