.. finally after month's of planning the red envelope from Virgin Holiday's arrive in todays post.

Had a frantic few calls with Virgin call centre when DW's name was spelt wrong. Virgin Holiday's admitted it was their mistake but wanted to charge me for the admin fee to amend. I don't think so :confused3
Then did not tell Virgin Atlantic who naturally issused the tickets in the names given to them by Virgin Holidays :headache:

Eventually a helpful Customer Service operator at Virgin UK sorted it all out in 10 minutes and we received the updated ticket yesterday. 1 day before the rest of the package arrived :goodvibes

We have lost one of the pre-selected seats on the outward and inward flights. But we will just have to deal with that at check-in, as I realise they are only request anyway.

Next time any travel agent, or anyone else for that matter, tries to suggest something a little less than ethical we should just threaten to set the UK DISers on them :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:!!! Nice to see we are all so protective of one another's interests. :thumbsup2
 
I know - incredible! Howcome you lost one of your pre chosen seats? Was that due to the name change?

It looks likely as it is Diane's seat that we lost. Pity the fool who has to sit with the 2 youngest if it is not their mum :headache::headache:

The Call Centre staff were just reading off the script so I guess that any change they expect folk to pay :)
 
:scared1: Can't believe they wanted to charge you. We had the same problem when I went in to VA with our locator number, my DD's name was spelt incorrect but fortunatly on our GP invoice it was right. So they admitted that the person at VA had inputted it wrong so no charge for me.

I simply do NOT understand, when it comes to spelling of the lead passenger or their spouse/partner/children, etc, how they could possibly even consider that the erroneous spelling is not their fault. Even a person with relatively basic literacy skills is capable of spelling their name correctly - just go speak to any four/five year old, who would immediately spot if you got their name wrong.
 
The cases have been brought out of the garage and the packing has started :)

How exciting! I am just sat here guzzling my breakfast before another hectic day at work, worried how I am going to fit in everything I need to do today, get to my gym class by 6, and what to make for dinner afterwards, but reading your post and feeling your excitement has really cheered me up, and reminded me that only 134 days until we'll be off too!
