The REAL scoop on MK best days

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am somewhat unsure of when to shedule my Mk days for our trip. During the past few years of reading the DISboards and a couple trips to WDW, I have come to "know" that the best days for MK were Sunday and Tuesday. Now there seems to be some disagreement. I am hearing that Sunday is busier than Saturday, can this be true? I ALWAYS heard to avoid MK on a Saturday!
More specifically, during our trip I have MK slotted for Sun. and Tues., which happen to be the only days that there is NOT a MNNSHP (did that twice, won't be doing it this trip), or the dreaded Saturday. Sunday is evening EMH (which we would not stay for). Will this make the whole day busy? I was thinking of getting there at opening, doing what we want, having an early dinner at CP and then leaving. What time does it start to get busy, or is it busy right from the start? Also on Tues., it is the only night during our trip that both Spectro and Wishes are scheduled, will that then make Tues. crowded? We DO want to stay for both of these, so again, what time do the crowds start on a night like this? Lastly, would it be advisable to change our Sun. to a different day (that will have MNSSHP in the evening)? Same question applies here: on days with MNSSHP, is the MK crowded all day, or does it start to get crowded in the afternoon? Better or worse than a day with evening EMH? :confused3
Thanks for your help, hope I made sense.

We were just at MK on Tues April 4th. It was not EMH of any kind then. We had a great time not long waits did all we wanted to do from 9am to 6 pm and in the Unofficial Guide Book this day was considered an 8 for crowds. We had no problems used fast pass and maybe our longest wait was 30 minutes but most tended to be 10 - 20 minutes.

You are going in October when WDW tends to be less crowded anyways. I found that on Sunday before a EMH the park tends to be less crowded until dinner. If your plan is to ride and see shows and you are doing that before dinner at the CP, with an ADR you will probably not have too much trouble but might want to take advantage of knowing what you want to do and planning it out. If you are there at opening and head in to the rides immeadiately you can normally see 10-15 attractions in the first 2 hours and then spend the rest of your day enjoying a more leisurely pace(beacuse of the lines) just make sure you take advantage of FP and go immeadiatly to the most crowded rides you plan to go on when the park opens.

Since Tuesday night is the only night for both Wishes and Spectro it will be very corwded. I would not plan on going to do any rides but just get there in time to get a spot for these 2 shows. If you arrive with at least 1 hour before the parade you can get a great seat either on main street or the castle hub that will provide great viewing for both. If there are 2 adults, sit you party down and then have 1 adult get snacks (or take out some you have brought). I would advise not spending your day at the park or planning to come in only till noon and then eat lunch and leave. Don't spend the afternoon here it will be tiring and crowded. Both of these shows are excellent and I would say if you haven't see them stay for them. If you have a parkhopper ticket then plan to spend the day in a different park before coming here.

You will be able to see and do more except for certain attractions that are rarely crowded (Hall of Pres., Tiki Birds, Country Bears, Tom Sawyer, Liberty Belle) in the hours between opening and 11 then the rest of the day. Make plans to use those opening to your best advantage, if you simply want to enjoy each attraction once during your vacatiuon 2 morningd will provide you with the ability to see most of them without a wait over 15 minutes, just set up the 2 days to see the popular attractions 1st dividing them by their position in the park over the 2 days.
