We are all known for making changes to our Disney reservations, but now we're ready to make a BIG change. We're going to change our lifestyle! We're getting fit for the Mouse and need support so let's get to it ladies!

I'm here!!! I have 53 days to get my butt in shape for Disney!!! :yay:

What should we report here? Exercise tips? Eating tips? All of the above?

I'm always looking for good lunch ideas...that are NOT Smartones meals...some of those are ok, but DO NOT EAT THE ENCHILADA ONE....another poor choice on my part :sad2:

 I'm here! I need all the help I can get as the older I get the worst my willpower is. Being Diabetic and taking insulin compounds the problem.

I started to try harder when we returned from our March trip. I began recording everything I put into my mouth on 3/19. To date I have lost 6.2 pounds.

Congrats on your weight loss .... that sounds like just the right speed to lose it so it'll stay off. I like the idea of recording everything you eat .... I was doing that with Weight Watchers online. It really made me think before I put anything in my mouth! So it's back to logging every bite for me! :thumbsup2

It is a pain sometimes to record everything but it does help one not cheat I think. I do have my bad moments but next meal or day I just get right back on track.

Good luck to everyone!

 Hi everyone!

As I mentioned on the RC thread, we joined the YMCA as a way to get the whole family into exercising. To date, DS and DD have gone ... DH has not.

It's been good for me, just exercising has made me feel better, and watching what I eat, has translated into losing 9 lbs!! I love the idea of the thread, thanks Dani for starting one! :thumbsup2

:woohoo: Congrats on losing 6.2 lbs!!! Yeah!!

I'm here! Thanks for starting this WISH thread. Maybe if I walk 30 minutes for every resort change I make....

Seriously, it is time for me to get back to walking again.

What I try to do for lunch is have leftovers from the night before. I've already figured out the points or calories so that keeps it real simple for me.

I think what I'm going to do here is use you lovely ladies to keep me accountable. My plan .... every morning jump on here and tell you how I did the day before. I'll let you know if I stayed under my point (Weight Watchers) goal and exactly what I did to exercise.

If I find something that I think is working I'll certainly share with you all. :thumbsup2

I'm so proud of our RC family! I'm also really happy I have you all for support. One problem I have is I am supposed have a daily caloric intake of 1800 because Lilyana still nurses, however I'm way below that. Today I'll be about 800 calories below. I'm going to have to eat more before I go to work I guess.

I read this and all I could think was ..... poor Jeanette she'd never get to stop walking!!!

:offtopic: How are we ever going to make it for 2 weeks without her? Janet you'd better be ready to keep us going!

Too funny! :rotfl:
We are going to miss her, hope she has a wonderful trip. :goodvibes

I'm here too! Joining my friends for some much needed support! I joined WW two weeks ago at a start weight of 205lbs:( not happy!!! I know how it is to lose a large amount of weight....,In Sept 2007 I joined basic training and the army....I lost 65lbs to achieve this goal! I went away to basic trg in Sept 2007 while my husband was away in Afghanistan on tour.....needless to say, it was not a good time to leave my kids or do this! To make a long story shorter, I hurt my Achilles tendon in basic and was told it would take 6-8 weeks to heal, and I wouldn't be back on platoon again until after Christmas/ in the new Yr. With hubby gone and myself gone, it was so stressful for my boys. I made the hard decision to voluntarily release from the military and go home.....it was for the best, and although hard at the time, and sad about a unrealized dream, it ended up being the best decision of my life.....

Fast forward 5 yrs and I have gained back almost all of that weight :( it had been so hard to keep it off.....I don't exercise fanatically like I did when I had the military goal. I also had a personal trainer At that time too!!!! I am not willing to sacrifice my life to exercise like I did in 2007.... I want something gentler (like walking) and more sustainable....so I can keep with it without dreading exercise! We have a treadmill in our basement so I have decided to make this my "get fit for walking at Disney program" and my "to feel good in my clothes//get healthier program!" I want exercise to be moderation, not my life like it was when I was training for the army....thinking about even working out at that intensity again makes me cringe and want to not do anything!!!! So slow, sustainable and lifelong is my motto this time!

As I shared, I joined WW two weeks ago....I started at 205.4 lbs....I am most recently 203 and hopefully still losing! My weigh ins are Saturday Morning. I have a achievable goal of losing 20lbs minimum by my trip Sept 27..... That's about 5 lbs a month......quite doable, I think!!

Dani.....glad to hear walking worked for you, that's going to be my exercise of choice this time! :)

I look forward to sharing this journey with my RCer buddies :grouphug: WE CAN do this with each other :)

Ok...just want to report that I did get on my elliptical today for 30 minutes at a pretty good clip. :goodvibes

Its okay Linda, at least it's not chocolate cake with that diet pepsi! :)

I like that diet .... diet pepsi and chocolate cake!!! :rotfl2:

Hmmmm I wish I was some help here. My one suggestion would be to talk to your doctor and see if you could drop that calorie count down some. I'm assuming that Lilyana is also eating food besides just nursing so that she is getting vitamins, etc from something other than just the breast milk.

EXCELLENT!!!! So proud of you! I'm hoping to get for a walk once the sun goes down.

Hi Guys! I am here. What a great idea to start this thread, Dani. Thank you. :goodvibes

I am looking forward to this weekend. No computer, and we may watch our TV one time in 5 days. :cloud9: All that translates to lots of outdoor activity and a good jumpstart for exercising when I get back home. So, June 1 - Aug 15... I wonder if I can lose 10 lbs? 20 would be great. Time to get started. This is my jumping jack dude :yay:

Congrats for all the great starts that you guys have already made. :cheer2:

They recommend it to keep up supply. I drink over 100 oz of water a day and today my intake was around 1300 calories and I feel like I stuffed my face! Tomorrow I will try to eat before I go to work and see if that helps.

Welcome aboard!

I will be in the same position this weekend. Limited access to the Internet, and hopefully lots of exercise! I'll be taking the kids to the boardwalk and fr long walks around the trails by us.

Congrats on a great first day RCers! :cheer2:

Good Morning, my friends!

Dani, thanks so much for starting this thread for us - great idea!!!:cool1:

I so want to join in, but tend to fail and drop out of threads like this...I gained at least 30 lbs when we moved here and stopped moving completely - went from walking everywhere, including to/from work which was 3 miles one way, to sitting all day everyday. There are no sidewalks here.

We eat a LOT of take out food and that is not going to change. Since I do not live in my own home, do not do the grocery shopping or cook, it makes it difficult. WW is too expensive to join on line for me (or in person, but could not get there anyway). Mia does try to make healthy meals, but she is so overwhelmed that we often have take out for lunch. Being home all the time, I snack far too much and definitely nothing healthy...though I do try sometimes, just not enough.

How's that for a nice negative beginning? :confused3 Living here 6 yrs now, no friends, not able to get out on my own...am definitely depressed. I was just beginning to cope with the loss of Toby and get out more at home (other than work) when we moved here. I have been in a funk for 6 years. Hoping coming here to cheer my friends might help me too. :goodvibes

Congrats Sheila and Janet on the weight-loss!!! And congrats to everyone on the great start!! :cheer2:

Dani & Magic, have a wonderful weekend!!
