Disaster Hotspot - An area that gets a multiple amount of disasters.

California - Earthquakes, landslides, wildfires, others I can't remember.

The Phillipines - Volcanoes, earthquakes, typhoons, landslides.

Phillipines main casestudy - Mount Pinatubo. First erupted on 3rd June 1991. Had an explosive eruption on 7th June. Climaxed on 15th June. Also coincided with Typhoon Yunya. Over 4,000 people were killed and 1 million people affected. Caused about $7 billion in damages.

California casestudy - 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Happened at 5:04pm. Measured 6.9 on richter scale. 63 people were killed and around 15,000 people were affected. Occured during a game for the 1989 World Series. Caused about $13 billion in damages.
