Ohh.
Nothing really. (:
Thanks. I'm always the first person my friends turn to when they're arguing with each other.. and I never know what to say. But the always make up again (with my help) so I must be doing something right. It's just stressful for me though.
And sounds fun lol (:

Basically the Canadian School System or North American school system runs from Pre-Kindergarten(Age 4) through Grade 12(Age 17-18). Elementary schools run from Pre-K -through 5th grade, and then you transfer to Middle or Junior High School in 6th -8th grade. During these years you take English, History(Social Science), Physical Sciences, Math, Physical Education, Art, Computers, and Music. After 8th grade you reach High School or Primary School from Grades 9-12. At this time you start to recieve credits towards graduation. You must have 4 credits of English(4 classes), 4 credits of Math(4 classes), 4 credits of Computers(4 classes), 3 credits of History(Social Sciences) 3 classes, 3 credits of Physical Science(3 classes), 2 credits of Physical Education(2 classes), and 2 classes of Foreign language(2 classes). The remaining is electives of art, music, whatever courses are offered. 4 credits from those electives(3 classes). You must have 26 total credits to graduate. You also have to have a certain number of volunteer hours before graduation. You can do this by volunteering at a library, nursing home, boys and girls club. Those sort of things.

That's confusing O_o

We start at age 5, I think.

Primary School: Reception - Year 6. You take English, Maths, Science, PE, Music, Art, History, IT, RE and some do some languages (mine didn't) At Year 6, you take the 11+ which decides what Secondary School you go to.

Secondary School: Year 7 - Year 11. From Year 7 to Year 9, you take the same lessons as Primary School, but with some extras like Design Technology, Food Technology, languages, Social Studies, etc. At Year 9, you take the SATs which decides the level you're working at in Maths, English & Science. At Year 10, you still do English, Maths, maybe RE, maybe IT, Social Studies, and at least one Science (from Physics, Chemistry and Biology) but then you can choose the other subjects you want to do. The amount you choose varies with the school. My sisters were allowed to choose 3, and I was allowed to choose 6. You study all these lessons until Year 11, where you take your GCSEs, and you end compulsory schooling.

6th Form: Year 12 - Year 12. 6th Form is voluntary to go to, but almost everyone goes, because you get better jobs. The 6th Form you go to depends on your grades from GCSE. At 6th Form, you choose 4 lessons you want to take, and they can be anything the school offers. You do those for a year and take the AS exams. After that, you have to drop one lesson, you can drop a couple and take another AS subject, or you can do 4 completely different subjects. If you don't do different subjects, you carry on those 3 lessons onto A2. After this, you can choose to go to University or not. What University you go to also decides on the grades you got at GCSE and A Levels (AS & A2)
