I've read the trip reports, I love other people's trip reports...It's time to put our story out there for all of the fans of Disney!

I have to say that I'm not sure what I like most about these reports....the photos,...the exciting stories...or just the memories that these reports bring for us.

Meet the Family

Day 0-Headed to Orlando

Day 1-The AKL, Monorail to Chef Mickey's, MK
Day 1-Part 2 Overcast in MK is OK!

So this report will go into detail about our trip to WDW in April of 2013. (yes...I realize that was a year ago....)

First we booked our stay at the AofA....then thought...beautiful...cool...lots of little kids...Walt "Screaming" World....

Then we switched to our first ever resort...POR. Love this place....

Finally...we decided...let's upgrade to Animal Kingdom Lodge....Go AKL!

My wife Paula:

1st grade teacher, a true kid at heart, fun-loving, great Mom and wife...

Daughter Madeline:

Freshman in high school, absolutely the Disney fanatic, out of her mind...most likely to be a CM ...all she does is sing WDW, smell WDW, dream WDW....you get the picture...

Daughter Annie:

8th grader, loves to ride the rides, loves the Disney adventure.

Me:

I'm Ron. I'm an elementary school principal in New Hampshire! I love guitar, piano, the Beatles, and of course...planning Disney trips with the whole family.

Our trip began on Friday night April 19th. This was a tough night to be flying out of Boston, because the whole city was searching for the Boston Marathon Bombers...They were caught while we were in the air flying on Jet Blue out of Logan.


We had dinner before our flight!

The girls were excited for the non-stop flight!

We would land late at night...around 11pm...and got off the ME bus at the AKL around 1AM. Can't wait to start our third trip to WDW....

The girls got up on Day 1 ready to go! We couldn't wait to check out the resort. AKL!...We had heard so much about it....

So after getting ready with Must Do Disney on the TV, we head down to the buses and make our way to the MK! Our traditional first thing at WDW is to go to Chef Mickey's!
Love it there....and it starts our trip off with a blast of deliciousness and characters....

My plate has sugar, eggs, sugar, bacon, sausage, sugar, bacon, and ..some fruit.

Gharrrshh girls!

With full stomachs...it's up to the monorail and to the entrance of the Magic Kingdom. It would be rainy for the next 2 or 3 days...but does it matter? Well...a little...but ...No! We are just psyched to be back in WDW....

This is our third trip by my first TR! It's always fun reading about these trips...Thanks for joining in.

The weather was overcast...and we would get a little rain. But we LOVE visiting the MK. Annie and I headed to Space Mtn. to pick up FPs and then we walk/jog/scoot over to AL to join Madeline and Paula at our first ride of the day which is....POTC! Yohoyoho.....!

When you enter these queue areas...let's say...POTC...you start hearing music faintly, and then you begin to see the artifacts....Even though you know what the ride is all about...you've gone on it before...you still are excited to be part of it...that's the Magic. That's why we keep going back....all of us!

Get on the boat me hardeees! Tell me a story dead pirate!! Why won't you tell me a story?...Oh...dead men tell no tales....right...


Next we continue on our journey back and forth...hitting our favorites...and trying new ones like the LM ride.....

We actually took many photos and went on a bunch of rides....We ate at Casey's ...It would have been better but it was getting cold and wet....We took one last picture and headed back to the AKL for a little rest...ready for tomorrow.

How is Casey's? We've considered it, but never ate there.

The food was very good...but it was cold and raining when we ate...so the experience was rushed....hot dogs, corn dogs, ff, and pop! Quick meal on the DDP!

Next trip will be April 2015! We like going in April during our school vacation....typically not that busy!

We went on this trip a year ago this week.....We are headed back in a year. We can't wait. The trip report is bringing back some great memories.....

We woke up early the next day to get a good start at Animal Kingdom. We ate breakfast at the Mara, which is the quick service place at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. You have to enter this from the outside...and we quickly navigated from our pool view room. I would get up early to get a cup of coffee in my travel mug...and wait while my girls got ready for the day.

On the bus on the way to AK, the driver was making a big announcement about our destination. " IN a few moments, we will arrive at our destination...Animal Kindgdom." The bus cheered....and I yelled out..."ka KAA"!...in an African bird like fashion. This became our families' cheer for the rest of the trip.

Love the girls' duck and cover pose on Dinosaur! Actually...check out the whole car....some pretty interesting expressions!

The lunch was fantastic and we headed back to the AKL for a little rest before our trip to DD! We had ADRs at Planet Hollywood....It was a rainy night and we got off the wrong stop for the bus, if we had stayed on, it would have taken us right behind the restaurant....I knew this..but somehow had forgotten because...that happens!

Not many pictures from DD that night. Annie and I explored DisneyQuest for an hour...free passes...and Madeline and Paula shopped. Maddy got her favorite...Stitch....but passed on these beauties.....
