The Pursuit of Disney Magic (June 7-14, 2008) ~ UPDATED 9/30 pg. 191

Isn't Soarin great?? I love your SSE pics, and I too hate when it stops!! Epcot is my favorite park so I can't wait to see where you go next!

PS: I can give you the Soarin music if you want :) PM me!

I refuse to ride Mission Space! I love the pictures of the kids, and I'm glad Connor remember his lanyard.

Hey, love your scaredy comments about SSE!!! You are toooooo funny!

As far as Mission Space, we let the kids go on the easy one, but I happen to LOVE this ride. I learned, as most of you, to just keep your head forward, no looking to the sides. Focus so poignantly on that screen. I have felt nothing but jello legs when coming out. I wind up riding on my own on this b/c we will not let our kids on the fast side.

I am LOVIN' the TR!!

Lori

I turned to Charles and said, "I love you." He just laughed at me because he knew why I was doing that -- sometimes you just realize how lucky you are to have who you have even if they do take too much Benedryl. ;)

I do this with my DH all the time - whenever we end up near feuding or just out of sorts couples, it becomes love fest for us! :rotfl:

Gorgeous photos and it is a pain when 1 child eats off of the adult menu and one off of the kids isn't it, we ended up just sharing everything :rotfl2:

I love Soarin too and I'm sure you could find it for your ipod :thumbsup2

Excellent update! Pictures of Connor and Chelsea are excellent--your children are so photogenic!

We rode the green version of M:S and I thought it was fine. I think I probably could've handled orange, as long as I'd eaten maybe an hour beforehand, but Nevi and Melneth didn't want to risk it, and I didn't care about it enough to do orange on my own.

Looking forward to Tuesday!

great update and pics.

that SSE ride does not sound like fun.

Love front row on Soarin'. :thumbsup2

I'm a bit late to the party, but I just spent lots of my Sunday reading your pre-trippie, and trip report! Yay! :hyper:

Your kids are very cute, and it sounds like you all have a blast together. :thumbsup2

Although, I must admit... I thought Charles was your son's name!! Somehow I switched the names, so when Charles had lots of Benadryl and kept falling asleep, I was so worried! Then you were going to put him on the bus by himself!?! Augh!! :scared1:

Then I realised, oh.. hang on. Charles is her husband!!! Duuh me!!! :rolleyes1

Anyway, really enjoying your report so far!! Thanks for keeping me occupied today on my sleepy Sunday afternoon! :)

Welcome and thank you for reading and the compliments on my children!

Yes, Charles is my husband -- I would never let Connor take Benedryl and then put him on a bus by himself. :goodvibes

What part of Australia are you from? I have an aunt and cousins in Canberra.

You are so sneaky... making it seem FLOWY, but it's a calculated FLOWY!

Calculated flowy fits better with my personality! ;)

Excellent update!

Glad to see a chapter in which the WHOLE family is enjoying the World together.;)

Seriously, though, I'm glad Charles came out of the Benadryl coma and was able to have a normal day with everyone. Spaceship Earth would freak me out if I really thought about it, but I choose not to.:lmao:

But, I've had it stop too, and that would be a big fear for me with a three year old becuase that ride is soooooo long, and keeping him entertained during technical difficulties is not my idea of fun. :rotfl2:

I can't wait for you to head to the World Showcase!:goodvibes

May I also ask now that you're home, without revealing too much of your trip report, how did you like POFQ?

It's on my consideration list for next year.:thumbsup2

Thank you!

We were very glad that Charles was with us again on Monday!

Normally, SSE never bothers me, but sitting there in the dark really got to me!

We love POFQ -- it was our second time there -- I took lots of pics later in the trip of the grounds and pool area. It's definitely worth your consideration!

We were at EPCOT that same day.... it was such a nice day. Spaceship Earth.. that stinks stopping that much. Glad you rode more than two rides:thumbsup2

It was a nice day!

And we aren't finished riding rides! :thumbsup2

Reason #72 why I won't ride this ride. I have showed DF this comment because I don't want him to go on it either.

Those are the most adorable pics of your kids. :goodvibes

Thank you! Yes, the thought of Mission: Space makes me cringe. I would ride the mild version, but my daredevil family won't hear of it.

Great update Jackie... We got to Epcot that day too! Glad Charles was feeling better. Rope drop is definitly interesting with the hoards of people usually all going to the same place.. But you can get sooo much done!

I completely misjudged Epcot with time frames we didn't get to experience half of what I had hoped... Always next time right :)

looking forward to more..

Rope drop is good to get things done -- I just like getting there at like 9:10 to miss the onslaught!

I am still learning how to do certain things on every trip, and yes, there is always a next time -- that's what I always tell myself. :thumbsup2

I won't ride MS either because I swear that I'd have a claustrophobia attack, and I won't let my youngest son ride it as he has a (now) minor heart defect. Thus far, it is the only thing at Disney, that he was wanted to ride, that I won't let him ride. I had a moment or two of trepidation about Space Mountain, but decided it wasn't going to stress him anymore than his usual ninety-to-nothing running around. The kid is pure energy, I swear.
:hyper:
I get a little claustrophobic at times on SSE also. Near the beginning when it is dark and there is no air flow for a bit. I have to mentally "talk myself down" and remember to breathe slowly and relax my body. That always does the trick. Somehow I doubt this technique would work for MS.
:(

Listening to Charles and the kids tell me how you are strapped into the ride, and then aren't supposed to move your head while on the ride -- yikes! -- I just won't do that.

This was the first time on SSE that I thought -- I am stuck in the dark in a giant ball -- normally, I just focus on what's going on -- but with it stopped, there was a LOT of time to think about where I really was! :scared:

Isn't Soarin great?? I love your SSE pics, and I too hate when it stops!! Epcot is my favorite park so I can't wait to see where you go next!

PS: I can give you the Soarin music if you want :) PM me!

Epcot is definitely becoming one of my favorites, and I think I could ride Soarin' all day long!

I will be PMing you! :yay:

I refuse to ride Mission Space! I love the pictures of the kids, and I'm glad Connor remember his lanyard.

Thank you -- it's always the pictures that I just take on the spur of the moment that seem to turn out best.

Mission Space will NEVER be graced by my presence! ;)

Sweet update! Love the pix :thumbsup2

Thank you! Did you get your computer screen fixed, Julia?

Lori

I am the biggest scaredy cat -- I even cringe and hold on tight when the boat drops on POTC. :lmao:

I don't blame you about not wanting the girls to ride the fast side -- I am always surprised that Connor does it, because he is usually a wuss like I am.

I do this with my DH all the time - whenever we end up near feuding or just out of sorts couples, it becomes love fest for us! :rotfl:

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: Glad we aren't the only ones!

I love it! Great family!

Thank you so much! Next update will be tomorrow! :thumbsup2

I love Soarin too and I'm sure you could find it for your ipod :thumbsup2

Thank you! Connor just doesn't like the principle of the thing -- that there is something his sister gets to do, that he doesn't. They give us such large portions at Disney that often we would share with him, too!

Excellent update! Pictures of Connor and Chelsea are excellent--your children are so photogenic!

Thank you. Chelsea is really photogenic -- you'll see later on that Connor sometimes looks like getting his picture made is the worst possible thing. :lmao:

I would like to ride the green version at some point -- it doesn't spin, right? That's my big thing with that one.

great update and pics.

that SSE ride does not sound like fun.

Love front row on Soarin'. :thumbsup2

Thank you! Not the best trip on SSE, but the changes at the end are definitely worth it!

We had never ridden front row before which was a neat experience! Charles and Chelsea were quite jealous!

Hey Jackie--did Charles and the kids ride the green or orange version of MS? I do LOVE that ride, but I can understand the desire to NOT want to ride it too!! Great installment!! Looking so forward to more! Jen

All caught up! The benadryl thing is too funny! Poor Charles! I'm excited to ride Space Ship Earth this time! It was closed during my last trip. Too bad about all the stops though!

Can't wait for more!

You would think if he really wanted us to come over to the dark side he could at least get down proper phone etiquette.

Seriously. Last time he did it I said, "No, Darth, I will not call you Dad and seriously. Keep panting at me. Let's see what child services has to say about that."

I hear the Dark Side has cookies, though. If they're Toll House and right out of the oven I don't know if I'll be able to resist.

I'll have to go check out Chad Vader -- it sounds hilarious.

My BF LOVES him some Chad Vader. I haven't seen it yet. I might need to check it out too.

I also like the Simpsons parody of it when Bart breaks his leg...:rotfl:

Haven't seen this one.

Remember how I said the park was not nearly as crowded? That's because everyone was waiting in line for Toy Story Mania. It was a 170-minute wait, and there were no Fast Passes!!!

Holy CARP Batman!

The only thing I'll stand in line for almost 3 hours for is.
Well.
Hm.
Jack Sparrow.

MAGICAL MOMENT: As we were in one of the stores and Connor was indulging his inner goofiness by trying on hats, a CM came up to Connor and asked him if he would like to look at his pins. Connor looked at them and said, "I forgot my lanyard back at the hotel." The CM then said, "If you had your lanyard, which of my pins would you want to trade me for?" Connor pointed to a Donald Duck as a pirate pin, and the CM took it off his lanyard and gave it to Connor saying, "Here you go! Next time don't forget to wear your lanyard!"

:goodvibes

If I wanted to run with the bulls, I would go to Pamplona. :rotfl:

Epicot needs a Spain pavilion.

Behind us in line was one of those families with a bossy dad and a harried looking mother. They had brought their stroller into the line, and everyone in line heard the dad fussing at the mom about what to do with it. :furious: I turned to Charles and said, "I love you." He just laughed at me because he knew why I was doing that

So funny. BF and I do this too.

Chelsea "poses" -- something she does the entire trip

I totally did this too when I was a kid!

I hear the Dark Side has cookies, though. If they're Toll House and right out of the oven I don't know if I'll be able to resist.

Especially if they offer to sandwich some nice ice cream in between those Toll House cookies a la the Main Street bakery....oh ho ho the force would be strong with those.

Holy CARP Batman!

The only thing I'll stand in line for almost 3 hours for is.
Well.
Hm.
Jack Sparrow.
::yes::

Finally caught up!

Your dh's benadryl coma sounds familiar to me! I experienced one in the same park!

I sense an update coming!

Alright, CP, where are you? Sleeping late? What do you think this is summer?;) :lmao:

Inquiring minds need to live vicariously through your trip report!:thumbsup2
