The Pursuit of Disney Magic (June 7-14, 2008) ~ UPDATED 9/30 pg. 191

I love the tags.

Chelsea will understand when people start approaching your family. Either that, or she'll just think it's weird :rotfl2:

I think she may think it's ok this trip. In a year or two, not so much.

Yeah, she is teetering on the edge of the "cool or not cool" parent dilemma.

The day they took the reading benchmark, I said to them as they got out of the car, "Read the questions before you read the passages!"

She turned, laughing, and said, "You are such a TEACHER, Mom!"

No. It will be moment by moment on that one.

I don't know whether to :rotfl2: or :sad1: -- it's a toss-up that's for sure -- she was okay for the most part this last trip except once or twice.

I know I was just like her at that age -- I find old travel journals and stuff that I wrote and you would never know that I was traveling with my family because I NEVER mentioned them! It appears from the journals that I did a great deal of traveling solo when I was in middle school :lmao: .

It's funny how you think their parents are the be all and end all when you're around 5 years old. But once adolescence is in the horizon, you're mortified by everything your parents do and say. This only lasts until you're an adult and realize you were out of your mind as a teenager.

My DS is three...is this what I have to look forward to? :sad2:

So true! I think we become beasties so that we are able to leave and make our own way in the world (and our parents are able to emotionally allow us to leave). Then, we realize we should have just stayed home and let Mom take care of us! :lmao:

My mom and dad are my best friends now  .

I think, from what I have seen, that boys are a little bit easier than girls. My nephew is a year older than Chelsea so I have been watching closely. Plus, my boy students don't seem near as attitude-filled as my girl students...although, by the 8th grade they pretty much have only one thing on their minds :scared1: .

I love the tags! So cute!

Thank you! :goodvibes

So what you're telling me is that I'm trading attitude for rampant testosterone. :rotfl:

I agree. Now I can hang out with my parents without being mortified about what they say or how they dress.

:scared1:

You can never have enough. Maybe you could convince her to try DL or Disneyland Paris.

She went to DL for the first time in 1961 and scores of times after that (she lived in LA for years before meeting my dad and getting married). She and I have talked about Disneyland Paris before, but...:confused3

I tried to get her to go with me last October when it didn't look like Charles could come along. She had no interest :sad1: .

I hope I never get enough of Disney!!!

I hope I never get enough of Disney too. I plan on having someone wheel me to Disney on a stretcher :lmao:

:rotfl2: I'll be right there with you!

I always see these people at Disney that are elderly and don't look like they could possibly handle the heat. Now, I realize that I will be one of them -- making my great-grandchildren push me down Main Street while I grouse that the Dole Whips don't taste like they used to! :rotfl2:
